After 7 months of waiting (AOR Aug 31st) I received ADR from CIC today asking for my CV, Schedule A form and a supplementary form...
I am going to send it tonight...
Can any of you professionals help me understand what is the next step? how long shall I expect to wait?

Thanks...
Next (after submitting your docs), the "additional documents review" will go to "NA" in a few days (meaning that the officer got the docs). Then, it *may* change to "we are reviewing the ….".

I hope that you weren't selected for enhanced security screen (eSS). If it goes to eSS, it is not that predictable when it will be done.

I'm not sure whether my file went to eSS or not, but it took about 2 months from submitting the additional docs to get PPR.

Hope you get your PPR or interview soon.

@Mr_nobody @aasaf
So I deleted the whole profile and did another application from scratch and now reaching to magic number of 510 CAD for two open work permits, thanks a lot for spotting my mistakes, It seems I did not follow the open work permit route and was going under normal work permit branch.

Here is my document check list:

Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker (IMM5710)

Passport

Use of a Family Member Representative for Online Applications (IMM5713)
Marriage License/Certificate (required)
Digital photo (required)
Proof of upfront medical exam (required)

Optional document:
Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM 5257)
Client information

It is mentioned that I need to submit my AOR letter along with PNP certification in letter of explanations. They did not ask for job offer however I intend to submit it as part of LOE.

My temporary visa also expires at 1 July, however it is mentioned to submit a separate application for the new visa only after we approve the extension of your work permit, is that OK? What will happen if this approval comes after my visa expiration?

So do you think I am finally in the right track for BOWP and can I pay and submit the damn thing now ? :)

Thanks a lot folks, you are great help :) if you ever pass by Vancouver let me know and few pitchers on me :)
Hello, it seems more correct to me than before. At least it is really Open work permit.
I still say don't rush it, you have plenty of time till your expiry date. Hope you can get your ppr by then.

About visa, the story of visa is different. Visa is for entering Canada, but permit is for staying in Canada. If you don't want to travel outside Canada and come back anytime soon, you don't need to worry about the visa. As long as you have permit (work or study), you can stay in Canada no matter the visa is expired or not. However, I always recommend to have a visa as well in case there is something emergency in Iran and you want to go, you don't have to worry about the visa.

I don't know if you can apply for the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) at the same time as the permit or not, but if not, you can apply after you get your BOWP. It usually takes less than a month.

I think the LOE is a good idea :)

Indeed, it was @Mr_nobody who first noticed there was something wrong with your application. Good job, @Mr_nobody

The documents that I uploaded were as follow:
- photos (for my wife and I)
- medical (both of us)
- passports (both of us)
- imm5257b (optional - both of us)
- imm5710 (both of us)
- imm5713
- LOE (AOR)
- my wife's work permit
- marriage certificate

Yes, it is totally OK. You need a visa only if you wanna leave Canada and return. It is OK if you don't have a visa while staying in Canada.

@Mr_nobody, I have a few questions for you:

If I got it right, you haven't landed yet. What is your plan? Have you booked an appointment? or you wanna leave Canada and return?
I've heard that Ottawa office has a walkin service for this? Is that right?
Yeah, I haven't landed yet. I just got my passport back a couple of days ago. I definitely want to avoid leaving Canada, but I don't have much time, my WP is expiring soon and I need to do landing.

Yes, you can do landing in Ottawa office on a walk-in basis every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of month from 10 am to 2 pm. If you are living in Ottawa, that is the best option for you.

Salam,

welcome to the forum :)

I think assaf said everything.
The only thing I want to add is that you are most probably at the beginning of the security. Now, the officer will check your ADR and will decide about it.
Hopefully he will be satisfied with your ADR, runs a basic security check, and will finalize your application soon. If not, like most of us, you may be sent to a more enhanced version of security or the so-called SS. This may take longer. Hope you get your ppr soon :)

From where will you land? Most people land through the US border, but we need a visa :(

BTW, do you know how long does it take to make an appointment for an interview?

I don't live in Ottawa, but I think going to Ottawa for this is much better than leaving Canada. Is this service offered only in the Ottawa office?

@Mr_nobody , Many thanks for your attention to details, your eagle eye and being that awesome to spot my costly mistakes, this PNP Inland is so wonderful and moving so slowly by itself and adding the fellow citizen factor on top gives me motives to file this as soonest, i give it a few days and then file and will keep you all posted.

Wishing you a smooth in land landing:)

We don't need the visa. What people usually do, they go to the border, and exit Canada, but the US customs don't allow them to enter to the US. They give them a letter stating why they were rejected at the border. Using that letter, you can do your landing. I know it seems risky, but apparently they know about the whole idea of flag-poling in Canada and they know that you are not trying to enter the US illegally. I have seen people on these forums mentioning that this process does not have negative impact on US visa application, if you want to do one day.
BTW, do you know how long does it take to make an appointment for an interview?
I don't know, but usually the offices are really busy and I heard that in some cities, they give appointment for like a month ahead. But, if you tell them you want to do it urgently, they may find a sooner time slot for you.

By they way, did you receive your COPR?

Edit:
I don't know if it s only in Ottawa or other cities, but I think Montreal may also have something like that.
You can raise a CSE and ask. they will tell you what would be the best option for you

They will refund the whole money if you withdraw it before they start review your eligibility. If they started reviewing your eligibility, they will refund the open work permit holder fee which is 100 for each person.

Guys, i dont recommend for us to do the flagpole, as anytime in future if you want to visit the south of border you need to give explanation to a questions like have you ever rejected at point of entry and bla bla bla, ...
You can submit a web form and mention your urgency status and they most probably provide you a faster interview time, at least they do this in Vancouver..
good luck and keep us posted please.
