Does anyone know if there is a difference in updates on GCkey vs ECAS. Like GCkey will have more granular updates vs only major updates in ECAS or is it the same on both portals....We filed it through a rep and we are always relying him for updates....I am checking it through ECAS every now and then but i feel there may be some updates in GCkey...We are waiting for biometrics request now and nothing yet as of now...

Appln received - Jan 24 | AOR - March 8 | Med req - March 11

Anyone sponsoring someone from Central America? If you know your file may be sent to Mexico VO please keep us posted.

I have heard that previously that VO is particularly slow so would be great to see some timelines for 2019.

Should be sending my application next week I'm Canadian citizen sponsoring my Nicaraguan spouse.

Best of luck to everyone!

Hi to you both! Yes, I'm Canadian born and sponsoring my Costa Rican husband. Everything was going fine until IRCC put the wrong surname on my step-daughter's medical request and I have been waiting for them to correct it since Feb 28th. I just sent another email through webform on Friday, 15th explaining my concern for the 30 day timeline.

I've heard Mexico City VO is slow as well and was hoping for Mississauga, so have to keep fingers crossed. Good luck to you both as well! :D
Hi friend. Mine too. It is very slow. Some are saying 5 months awaiting transfer to Mexico City from the first AOR. Very backlogged and slow.
We are at medicals passed and awaiting transfer to VO. Our baby is due in late April early May and it's looking for sure like hubby won't make it in time. o_O Looks like I'll be getting baby's CDN passport and going back to Costa Rica with her. There's no way I am being apart from my husband for all that time especially in babys first few months! Good luck to you and keep in touch!!!!

Mycic page(GCkey) changed a little
Review of additional documents: We have received the additional documents you provided.

The only thing i uploaded recently is the RCMP biometrics result.
MyCIC just updated a little, again:

Review of additional documents: We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.

It's only been 4 days since last update on Saturday but it felt like ages already

This sounds a little like my situation, except that it was IRCC's mistake and not mine on the incorrect document. I'm not in Canada right now or I would call them, and that's the only suggestion I have for you right now, unfortunately.

If you are in Canada, try calling them, express your concern for the timeline and see what they tell you. You're right, it does seem crazy not to correct it first, but who knows how their system works :)

It says at the beginning of the info on webform that sending multiple requests for the same issue will not get you an answer faster, so I'm already concerned about sending two, but I think we need peace of mind, so try calling.... and good luck!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience, let's see how it is fixed. :(

It is okay if you can tolerate the anxiety of long wait with no updates! GCkey is a nice thing to have because you can see minor updates about your case, but it's totally optional and it does't affect the process of your application. Major updates can be seen either from ECAS or emails.

RCMP biometrics. Yeah it wouldn't show anything until they send out requests. Fingers crossed for all of us!

I think it's very likely to hear major updates from then on our BFD, which is around March 28 for both of us.

Hi,
I was just able to see my application on ecas. Under sponsership application status it shows we started....on 18th feb 2019. Does it means that they are talking about sponsership approval and not about AOR ? Under permanent resident application status it shows we received your file .....8th feb 2019. @JoshC throw some light please
