GCMS notes which I received at the beginning of March indicated that my application was approved in November.@wiji, congrats and thanks for sharing!
Just one question: did you find out your file had been approved by calling or via notes?

@amin.gh read this, might be helpful for you
As usual you ask @tobs and I interfere and answer instead of herHi @tobs So as I told you last time that my current status in Canada is expiring soon and so far I haven’t received ppr . I have decided to move back to my home country, And come back once I get PR now .
But let’s assume in best case scenario if I receive PPR request before that can I stay in Canada and submit my passport here even if my current status expires ? Does having a ppr request means now you are on implied status or not ? Or will I have to still go back and submit passport at my home country only . Thanks
No worries !! I am glad that you responded to my query and just so that I have a clear understanding , this is what I interpret from what you explained , that even though if I get a passport request before my current status in Canada expires , which to be precise is March 30th, I will still not hold a legal status in Canada until I do my landing ? which means that I am still overstaying beyond my current legal status. I was under the impression that if you get passport request you are on implied status and you can stay ?As usual you ask @tobs and I interfere and answer instead of her
No! Be careful not to make any mistake. You won't be considered PR until the time that you actually finish the landing. And from ppr to landing, you would at least need 1 month time to send you passport, they initiate COPR, receive them and go to a border for landing.
Last I called, I was told that I have already been informed that my application is expected to take longer time due to procedural delays. There is nothing he could do about it.Yeah I could tell that.
. Have you tried calling them recently. I am pretty sure that the officer even have forgotten about your case completely!
Thank you and Congratulations!@leka @Mr_nobody @tobs @cansha @richa1987 @ChiragShetty20 @ @Prashant86_2000 @linda85
Good news everyone. Quick re-cap. June AOR, FSW-Inland. File approved in November at Montreal office. No movement in my file after that at all.
I phoned IRCC on 5th March to ask for updates. They confirmed that file was approved and was not touched since November.
I (cheekily) e-mailed IRCC.PRA-RVPR.IRCC@cic.gc.ca on 18th March requesting for an interview, using the details of my COPR that was on my GCMS information. I did not have any formal communication of approval at this stage.
On 19th March (today), I phoned IRCC again. Agent was genuinely shocked that my file was approved in November. He noted that there was some movement in my file in the last couple of weeks since my last phone call to IRCC.
Suddenly, I received a landing interview letter today (19th March) from Etobicoke. The interview is next week.
Thanks for all the advice guys. Hoping for the best for everyone else waiting.
If you know that your file is approved, call the IRCC office by phone until you are able to speak to an agent. I think that is the best way to communicate with them after the file is approved. Call them once every two weeks or so. Raising a CSE at the post-approval stage seems to be ineffective.
Also, my online account still does not show any updates whatsoever.

Nope, no reason. But as far as I could tell it was because they had a busy December, and they chose to delay the release of notes ordered within a date range in December. A few others who had ordered notes around the time that we did, didn't get their notes till much later either. On the other hand, people who ordered in start January got their notes in three weeks time, before those still waiting from December@Ronja5200, I remember you ordered GCMS notes a few times. Did you ever find the reason for this wait?
ugh...finally, congratulations!@leka @Mr_nobody @tobs @cansha @richa1987 @ChiragShetty20 @ @Prashant86_2000 @linda85

Thanks a lot . It really helps ! So even if I receive passport request I would have to ask them to change my VO office for passport submission as I can't stay beyond March 30th in Canada. Thanks a ton again for your suggestion and guidance I truly appreciate it.No, two pints:
1- Your study permit is valid until March 30th. So, you can stay till March 30th. no problem at all.
2- For CIC, your PR application is not complete unless you do landing. Passport request is just another step for CIC.
So, even if you receive passport request, if you cannot do landing before March 30th, you cannot stay in Canada beyond March 30th.
The only way that you can stay after March 30th is either (a) you do the landing and finish everything before March 30th or (b) you apply for another permit before march 30th such as work permit or study permit.
Hope it helps
But, wait, can't you submit an application for change of status from study permit to a visitor (visitor record - asking for an approval of, let's say, 6 months period) before March 30th, and that way you would be on implied status until they process and make a decision on that (visitor) application (cca. 60 days, info available on CIC site)? See link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5551-applying-change-conditions-extend-your-stay-canada.htmlThanks a lot . I was thinking to do the same initially but being on visitors visa means you can’t work or study which basically means you are doing nothing being in Canada. So I thought I might as well go back and wait for the decision and come back once I receive PR.But, wait, can't you submit an application for change of status from study permit to a visitor (visitor record - asking for an approval of, let's say, 6 months period) before March 30th, and that way you would be on implied status until they process and make a decision on that (visitor) application (cca. 60 days, info available on CIC site)? And if you're lucky, in the meantime, during those 60 days of processing, a decision on your PR app might me made? What you think, @Mr_nobody ?
