There is a message doing rounds, showing some "official" screenshots, saying that anymore students like me who have done 2 1 years permits, or 8+8/1+8 and so on, will only get a 2 year work permit anymore. Is this true?
Always look on the official Canada.caThere is a message doing rounds, showing some "official" screenshots, saying that anymore students like me who have done 2 1 years permits, or 8+8/1+8 and so on, will only get a 2 year work permit anymore. Is this true?
That's really bad news for us who have done 2 certificate programs.Always look on the official Canada.ca
From now on only if the two combined programs is more than 2 years in program length will you get a 3 year work permit. Otherwise you will get only 2 years. Bridging on a one semester only program is also no longer allowed.
2 semesters is counted as a year, assuming you have scheduled breaks.

Express entry points are based on NOC code and not on doing a job in your field, at least to my knowledge. That's really bad news for us who have done 2 certificate programs.
Will we get points on our Express Entry, if we get 1 year experience from a job not in our field?
If I do a 3 sem program in Humber which is for an year will I get 1.5 years PGWP ?Always look on the official Canada.ca

No, for a year course you will get 1 year PGWP.If I do a 3 sem program in Humber which is for an year will I get 1.5 years PGWP ?
I'm really confused. No, for a year course you will get 1 year PGWP.
Those people are wrong. If your offer letter says 1 year then you will get 1 year only. If your offer letter says 1.5 years then you will get 1.5 years.I'm really confused.
Some people say they check only the 'Academic Years' and 2 sem = 1 Academic Year.
Hi ,I got an offer letter from humber for a program with 3 semesters although the duration of course is written as 1 year ,I will get a year work permit only right ?If I do a 3 sem program in Humber which is for an year will I get 1.5 years PGWP ?
Yes.Hi ,I got an offer letter from humber for a program with 3 semesters although the duration of course is written as 1 year ,I will get a year work permit only right ?
The NOC thing is only for the Job offer from what I have checked.Express entry points are based on NOC code and not on doing a job in your field, at least to my knowledge.
An exact 8 month program equals an 8 month PGWP. You would need a one year course and completion letter confirming to get a one year PGWP.The NOC thing is only for the Job offer from what I have checked.
Also 8 months program gives 1 year right
It really sucks. An exact 8 month program equals an 8 month PGWP. You would need a one year course and completion letter confirming to get a one year PGWP.

The PGWP would map to length of the combined programs so 20 months. Not sure this is any different to the previous guidelines even for a single program where any program between 8-23 months would have have a PGWP issued to the equivalent program time.Hi everyone,
I have the same question about PGWP length. For example, if I do a program of 8 months and another one with 12 months. What will be the approximate length of PGWP? Will I get only 20 months of length?
