Hello,

I am a permanent resident but I am still in that window period that I am waiting to receive my PR card. I need to sponsor my common-law partner ASAP in order for him to maintain is implied status as a visitor. However, the application asks me a photocopy of the PR card which I do not have yet. Can I submit a photocopy of the confirmation of the permanent residency document instead ? ( I am referring to the page that you bring to the border and that has the stamp of your landing that officially starts your PR).
Alternatively, should I wait to receive my PR card f I risk a rejection?
Thanks in advance for any able you are able to provide
Best

When did you become a PR and when did you become common-law?

Applying for PR does not grant status. He should apply for a visitor extension.

You can include a copy of the COPR and explain that you haven't received your PR card yet.

Canuck is right.

If you just got your PR, and was in common in law relationship without declaring it in your PR app then you might have a problem here...
