He said Background check, Criminality check & Security check is completed. But it is upto Case processing officer to make the decision for PPR and Rep doesnt know the time yet. Its still 12 months from the date they received application.

Hooray on aor2 now I have a question . I got a letter feb 27 from Sydney stating that my application has been sent to Mexico, is this AOR2 ? Because in ecas and gckey nada , is there another letter after the one I have already received ?

Hooray on aor2 now I have a question . I got a letter feb 27 from Sydney stating that my application has been sent to Mexico, is this AOR2 ? Because in ecas and gckey nada , is there another letter after the one I have already received ?

This isn't AOR2, but keep checking your gckey status. I was worried about mine because I received a transfer letter on January 28th (generally AOR2 should come within 4 weeks of this date, I've read it in one of the CIC operation manuals) and there was nothing from my local VO confirming they received our app. However, on gckey, additional line was added 10 days later for PR which said "we started processing M.K.'s application on February 1st." When I sent an inquiry to the local VO the other day, they e-mailed me back saying that Feb. 1st is the day they received our app, so that is our official AOR2. They didn't think to send it on their own.... I hear that a lot of people never receive official AOR2 e-mail.
I wouldn't worry. Your app has most likely reached Mexico by now. They will update it eventually.

Hi, I saw your VO is Vienna - same here. Not sure why your app was delayed even longer than mine, but CIC has their own ways of dealing with applications and there is nothing we can do about that, but try to be patient.
As for the DM on your ECAS, if decision is positive (I assume it is), you will receive a letter in your e-mail (if you provided them with one) This is your official SA, which comes just a couple of days after, in most cases. Within those few days, you will receive a Medical request letter as well as Biometrics request. Make sure you keep checking your GCkey status. These letters will show up there under "Messages"

Thanks I’m just being patient because the Mexico VO is SLOW! I knew this and my husband and I were prepared to have months of silence

Anyone able to see the new progress bar? I just checked gckey and I don’t have it yet. A few of my friends have it and it’s as expected ....not very helpful

@laport2018 I hear you ... same goes for Vienna VO, pretty slow, but hey, we have nothing to think about anymore... CIC is giving us peace. Everyone's completion date is 12 months from the submission. Isn't that just hilarious? I couldn't stop laughing at the e-mail they've sent everyone.... all just to get us off of their backs, so we would stop inquiring about applications. If they make more effort to cut down processing times and hire more agents to process applications, there would be no need for so many agents in call centers, who are no help at all. It is all a waste of taxpayers' money... Their web forms are also useless, most just receive automatic replies... applicants are kept in the dark, yet, CIC is claiming they are improving their practices.... I don't see it. Processing times have been at 12 months average for years now and it is ridiculous to claim this when all VOs are different. Some process in 4 months and some take more than a year....

Hi, my timeline is very close to you. Sponsored from South Africa. I am hoping passport requests will come within 2 months after medicals, as that would be month 8 already. Anyone else care to pitch in on this? Some people get medical request prior to AOR2, others (like us) get medical requests after local VO has file.

My timeline:

Application Received: September 11th 2018
AOR1: December 17th 2018
Biometrics: January 7th 2019
Sponsor Approval: January 10th 2019
File Transfer to VO (Pretoria, South Africa): January 17th 2019
AOR2: January 21st 2019
Medical Requested: February 27th 2019
Medical Completed: March 4th 2019

Almost 6 months into the process. I could not find a lot of info on my local visa office, but the two other cases on this forum followed a timeline similar to mine, with medicals roughly a month after AOR2 and then passport request 2 months after medicals. I am hoping and praying ours is the same, since my fiance already resigned her job and booked a flight on 15 June to prove to the visa officer that she is in fact moving to Canada. If I cannot go with her, it is going to be tough on her to be alone for a few months. Fingers crossed that the visa officer is one of the kind ones.

We're hitting our 6 month mark soon. I'm worried because it doesn't show on GCkey or ECAS that medicals have been passed. It's been 6 days since we did the medical exam and still no update. Our lawyer told us that it shouldn't take more than 8 months for the whole processing to be complete and speaking with a lot of other people who have completed their process, they got their PPR within 7 months. Apparently SGVO is pretty efficient but they are thorough when doing the background check. I guess now it depends on our luck on how much longer it'll take.

The letter from Sydney is just to notify you that it's been transferred. The AOR2 is the letter that Mexico sends acknowledging that they have received your application. My letter is dated March 6th but my ECAS is showing processing started on March 1st.
It's confusing because I thought the line 2 in ECAS was AOR2.
My background check still hasn't started though.
