Hello, I received my file number on Nov 30, 2018. I started living with my spouse in October so I put on the file that I’m single. I looked up online that common law means living together for at least a year so if I want to add my spouse on now is it possible?
Thanks everyone!

Did they send you an email or you just logged in an noticed the ghost update?
There were no emails both times for sure. When I logged in I saw the status of the application was "application updated" or something like that. It changed to "submitted" after re-logging, though.

If you want him/her to accompany you, yes.
Other option is to continue application as single, activate your PR status. Then if it's planned, get married and sponsor her later.

Thank you for your warm congratulations, appreciate it :)
Yes indeed.
But I must specify that the process in my country is very different from the one for most of other countries.
While most countries are asked to send out their passports through VFS, and just wait for the return tracker to come alive, and the passports to come back at some mysterious date...
We receive PPR email on Fridays, for an appointment for everyone on the following Wednesday at 8am at the Canadian Embassy in Rabat (Morocco). They collect passports and photos, have us sit through a 50mn video about things to know about life in Canada (SIN, Health, Law, Social, Weather, etc...), and in the meantime they issue CoPR and stick the visa in the passport. After video is over, we collect CoPR and passport, Q&A session, and be on our way, ready to fly to Canada.

Really cool! I don't know if the same process applies in any other country...

That's why it's only a few days ;)
Wow, morocco seems to have the best way of getting the visa... and here we are sitting and thinking " we would be more than happy even if our application moves 1 step, let alone being offered some amazing tea while watchng beautiful video about canada"

Hi all, I am still catching up with the last 30 pages of content but it's nice to return to this community - I'm back! First, an update on my application.

In the two weeks I was away, I can't say I checked my EE profile everyday, but I saw no ghost updates or other changes to my profile, which would mean I'm still at IP1. So, I called IRCC and just got off the phone with a lovely Québécoise lady, and this is what I learned:

(Medical: Passed)
Eligibility: In Progress (second and final review being done at CPC-Ottawa) - was previously marked 'met'
Criminality: In progress
Security: In progress
Visa Office: CPC-Ottawa (transferred from CIO-Sydney)

I am not sure what this means. I did ask again about whether my extensive travel history might affect my application and she reaffirmed what the first agent told me back in February: there is no rule of thumb when it comes to background checks, but everything seems to "look good" with the application.

Wondering if you found a solution to this - when I poked around the Job Bank page I found a lot of the job posts actually link to external sites like Monster, etc., so I didn't understand what value the Job Bank adds.

I have been trying to register for the Job bank but keep getting this error. Anyone have a solution for this?

Express Entry profile numberError: You have entered an invalid Express Entry Profile Number and/or Job Seeker Validation Code. To avoid errors, you should copy and paste these codes directly from the message in your MyCIC account. If you are still having problems registering with Job Bank using these codes, please go to CIC Help Centre at http://cic.gc.ca/english/contacts for more information.

If my boyfriend is currently in Canada holding a study permit, what do I do now? I send in a web form and change my status to common-law? What will they ask for my boyfriend?

It's my opinion that the Job Bank is useless for FSW-O applicants hoping for a job offer to get 200 points. I'm glad they stopped making it mandatory. Statistically, nobody is getting a positive LMIA from that site. I know some do, but it's unlikely for most of us.

After you have PR (which is authorization to work), maybe it has some value in that it aggregates a bunch of sites.

Need more info to better help you.
What's your current situation? Are you outside Canada and he's in Canada?
Are you currently living together, and been living together for at least 1 year, and have evidence of that?

Hello, thank you for your help. We are both in Canada, have been living together since October and have proof, less than a year. Can I still add him as a spouse?
