Hello everyone

For those who planning to travel before their study by 1 or 2 months.

Which type of insurance have you bought?
What is the cheapest insurance to buy?

Thank you

Travel insurance is good for a short duration of time and will cover flight issues and baggage loss.

I am assuming that student Insurance is given by a Canadian company during your stay in Canada. If it's from your home country you might want to check the coverage.

Ultimately premiums vary from person to person.

I would suggest getting a travel insurance during and for a few days after your flight at the least.

If student insurance is cheaper or the same price then go for student insurance as claiming anything medical on a travel insurance is very tricky unless you pick the right travel insurance.

Hello, i think at the border they'll ask about where's my travel insurance to cover 1 or 2 months prior to the study, So that's why I'm little confused about which one should I get + how long ?

Thank you for your replay

Better to get quotes for both. If travel insurance works out cheaper then you can get that.

I personally don't think any insurance will give a policy for only 2 months. You will have to get travel insurance.

Insurance is not required for international students and they wont ask for it at border, of course it is a good idea to get some. Everything seems to be travel insurance sometimes they sell it under a different name but its all travel insurance, it will cover you in emergencies.
Once school starts you will be covered by your schools insurance it is part of your fees.

Emergency medical insurance for visitors to Canada. If a student, go for a student plan. Major medical health insurance would be more suitable for long term expats travelling outside of Canada
