Hey guys!
Just a quick question
Is the delivery time of the PA’s medical, from the clinic to the immigration ( which would take 10-13 days according to the clinic), included in the 30 days time frame given for the medical to be done?
Coz, we still have to wait for one week for the IOM to be done coz my wife (the PA) is still on her period which prohibits her to take the IOM test.

Hey everyone!
I have a question, my husband (PA) has a daughter that is non-accompanying in our sponsorship application due to her mother not wanting her “away.” Once he’s settled here, and once we come to a stable agreement with her mother, how long must we wait to be elegible to sponsor her?

Can i ask why they said it takes 10-13 days? I thought with eMedical systems they are uploaded right away..

Not all clinics use the e-Medical system.

So one of the things that I heard from a friend who used to work at CIC is that when applications are received they eveluate if the background check can be done from Canada in a transparent way or not. So it wont come as a surprise if US cases are sent to Missisuaga because information from US is easily accessible to Canadian authorities. Same applies for countries such as Australia, UK and many european countries. This is not the only consideration , ofcourse the amount of backlog also dictates the outcome.

Been wanting to find and talk to or read from people who actually work for CIC. I wonder if they are bound by some secrecy (likely) lol. Just to find out what actually goes on.

I believe the 30 day time frame is for your wife to accomplish the medical exam. I had my medical done at IOM too. :) their staff says they usually upload your e-medical within 3 business days, like mine for example, did medical 15January and was told they submitted my medical results 17January. By 22January, it reflected on ecas that medical results have been received. If, however, you have made an appointment already, or if you cant make it within the 30day period, she can still proceed and have the urinalysis to follow. I copied this from my IOM e-mail upon appointment confirmation:
· In the event that the applicant is on her period on the day of her appointment, she may still proceed with the medical examination. However, she will be advised to come back here in our clinic for urinalysis five (5) to seven (7) days after the last drop of their menstruation.

Sponsor is in Toronto
Principal Applicant is in India

Application Received = December 21, 2018.
Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) = February 16, 2019. AOR in 57 Days

Medical Request = February 23, 2019.

In this case what do you do? I am assuming by courier ?

I’m not sure - I think 10-13 days is probably a grossly inflated estimation from the clinic. I imagine most are uploaded to CIC in some manner but the eMedical system is deemed to be quick.

Out of curiosity

How reasonable do you think IRCC / CIC are when it comes to gaging how much time is sufficient to submit something they have requested for.

I just submitted my receipt for biometric fees, which took maybe 15 minutes, and was thinking to myself why you have the same amount of time to do it as a medical exam. I almost second guessed myself and had to see if maybe they requested to do the biometrics as well but luckily it's just the payment for now.

I think it’s easier for them to quote the same amount of days for all requests and keep everything uniform than have random amounts of days for individual requests.
