Anyone know, if we can move to different province after getting passports and if there is any forum for PR cards time frame??
I have been hearing that it can impose a problem if we move too soon. Lots of our friends have stayed in their provinces for 2 years as there have been refusing the extension of a PR after 5 years and even the app for citizenship.
I do know that people are saying that you are now a PR and can do what you please, however if the story's of refusals are even 50% correct... no thank you, after these struggles and wait
It's false I would say. Never believe the hearsay from the other people. They just make the story sound like folklore. What I recommend is to go check the Constitution Acts enacted by the Government of Canada. Under the Mobility Rights section, it says that Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right to move to and take up residence in any province and to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province. Guys, I have a question. I'm planning to go back to my home country at the beginning of April and have my friend mail my PR card to me. My question is , if somehow the card got lost during transit, can I still enter Canada with my work permit and TRV, ? Does the work permit automatically expire once I become a permanent resident?

I guess you will have to apply for permanent resident travel document, while your stay in home country and show it at port of entry.

Yea, the thing is I have to do my landing before April 13, and I won't be back from my home country until July. I've heard it usually takes them 2-3 months to issue PR cards.

Thank you, that makes sense. I totally forgot about that! lol

Copy of passport received today Feb 11
Hoping to receive COPR by Friday Feb 15

With all this snow, I will try to schedule a landing appointment in my local office. Who knows, I may get lucky and get one before all the snow melts.
I rather not drive to the border before then.

I do not have US visa. What is the impact on future US visa if I do flagpole? I heard that they put a mark in your passport like "application refusal - flagpole".

Also anyone knows what is the average number of wait days if I do landing by appointment in Vancouver CIC office?

When they give the visa on your passport and print COPR, on passport is there a deadline date by when you need to do landing? as I am planning to leave and go home for 1 month. Will I also be able to see this deadline date on my account when its approved and there is an extra coloumn with COPR information so that I can book my flight for next Friday.
