Study Permit/Criminal Record

Hello!
I have a UK caution from 2018 on my record, but I would like to apply for a Study Permit for Canada. I have no charges, arrests, or convictions, just this caution. I am particularly concerned about the requirements saying ‘no criminal record’. Does this mean that anyone with anything on their record is automatically ineligible? Or would I be able to get the permit if I am admissible, even though I have this on my record? Thank you very much for your help!

I think you were the same person who asked this question in December. Having a criminal record does not make you ineligible to visit, study or work in Canada. It's better to be upfront and honest will any information you have. If you do not inform and they come to find out, then that is a much more serious charge of witholding information that could lead you to be banned from Canada and affect future applications here or any other country.

Like I said last time, just be upfront in your application and you will be fine. If for example you lie in the application but get the visa, the border agent can still check you. If you lie there and they find out, then you're in big trouble. Just be honest about it and mention that it is a caution and explain the case.

Yes, I understand, thank you!
But does it make any difference if the caution has been removed from my record or it is still there? Or would the outcome be the same either way?

No, it does not. The question is "Have you ever been" which would include any criminal offense, even if it has been removed from your record. At least that is what I think.

Oh okay, I see. I was worried it might be a problem when I submit my biometrics and they see my caution through them. But that shouldn’t be an issue as long as I declare it, right?
