1. Look on their website for their refund policy, if she started in Jan/19, it is now Feb, so unlikely to get a refund.

Unfortunately, their website is very sparse on details. Since there is nothing on the website and they keep all fees information behind closed doors, there is nothing really you can do about it. They can claim whatever policy they want since they do not write it anywhere on their website.

Unless someone from that college has got a refund and knows the process unless they broke any law there is no recourse. You will either have to study there or have to write it as a loss.

This isn't accurate. Your sister can change schools without getting deported. However she may not get her fees refunded.

You won't get deported if you change schools but you won't get the refund.

Sorry to hear that.

I have been saying it from day one that ISI college is third class shop but then your Punjabi gang abused me here. They won't refund you single cent but changing college won't deport her.

Take legal help if possible. Although I have a gut feeling you won't.

All the best

If there are 4-5 students like your sister, get together and go for a lawyer.

Contact CBC to highlight your plight.

Start a FB page to highlight wrongdoing of this college especially the fear tactic of deportation if change of school is pursued

Don't be cowed down by these crooks.

Students should stay away from ISI, Matrix, CDI, Teccart, cegep GIM etc. in Quebec

Not sure if Quebec Ombudsman can help in this situation. It's a free of cost service. I don't have the details. Please google as I am finishing work and going home now.

If there is a clear deadline mentioned in their website which says if you cancel enrollment you will get refund within X date, you can claim refund if you’re still in that date. but now it’s 7th of Feb and you most probably missed the deadline.

But even in this case, some universities usually refund at least 50% after starting classess when its still not too late.

Now, if there is clear mention about the policy you can ask them to refund the money (deducting some administrative fees 500-100 usually).

But every university has some sort of policy maybe you haven’t found that on their website & typically they dont flash these kind of information to user that easily. its business nonetheless.

So if they can provide any sort of evidence supporting their non-refundable policy, the chances of getting refund is very slim.

keep talking with university officials and see what happens.

let us know what happens.
