Because you now qualify for an open work permit after you have submitted your PR application.
Yes and I've applied. But just asking whats the next step is in the PR application... especially now that I have submitted the requested documents.

If you don't hear from them soon consider that you have had your AOR already. You can then monitor the stages of PR and there are sub forums for that.

@LifeDreamer

So about two weeks ago, an immigration officer called me and asked about my wife whom I just added to my application as we got married this year. They asked for her citizenship certificate as she is a Canadian citizen and also for proof that I completed my probation without any breach to my condition. I sent proof and her certificate same day and suddenly after about a week I check ecas and it says decision made. I called the call center today for an explanation and the guy I spoke to said my file is in Etobicoke for final review and will be sent to Ottawa and I should get a ppr. He also said my medicals expires in jan 15 2019. He said it's a waiting game now and hopefully I get ppr before medicals expires.

My question now is do you know or have an idea how long it takes for Etobicoke to transfer files to Ottawa? I'm curious and anxious and also hoping to avoid having to do another medicals. Pls any information will be appreciated as always.

Thank you

I don't know the answer to that question. You could check online tracker sites to get an idea how long it could take to progress to PPR from that point.

@LifeDreamer

Thanks.

I actually got an e-mail from CIC asking me to come in for confirmation of permanent residence appointment and to bring my passport and photo and all.

Sounds like a landing interview right ?

It is, congrats. You are getting fast processing because you are provincial nominee and also an inland applicant. Your phone call could have pushed things too. There is a waiting time to get an appointment though so you better book your appointment as soon as possible.

@LifeDreamer

Thanks for everything. They actually booked the appointment and time and all and asked me to come in with things on the email so I don't have to book anything again.

Thanks for those encouraging words

Hi,
I read your thread, and I hope you get your PR finally.
My friend have a similar situation like you. He got an absolute discharge. He will apply PR soon, and I heard get a RCMP report with a discharge will take more 120 days. How long it takes you to get a RCMP report? Did you write an explanation letter to the immigration officer about your discharge?

Thank you very much

I can't remember how long it took but well around 2 months.
If you need more time, just write a letter of explanation. In my case I didn't have to.

Hope this helps

Thank you for reply me.
I am also wondering, does the conditional discharge has any bad effect on your PR application. Because my friend is worry about it very badly.

Thank you very much!

As long as there is no conviction, you will not be found inadmissible and that's the main thing. However, you will have to prove it to the immigration officer handling your file. You must have d court documents as well as proof from your probation officer saying that you completed your probation without a breach. I had to go through this and it did take a little longer.

There's no reason to worry as long as you can prove that there was no conviction.
