Hello all,
My wife is the principal applicant and we just received PPR couple of days ago and are required to submit our passports for COPR. Expected due date is mid Aug while our medical expires in mid Oct. Preferred landing province is Ontario and the plan is to fly in Apr end since it takes about 3 months to get PR and Medical coverage. Kindly suggest what should we do.
1) Should we raise a CSE and hold the COPR
2) What would be the expected reply as there is atleast 6 months till the delivery time.
3) Apply for COPR and hope to get all the documents i.e. PR card and Medical card in time. Land and then apply for the coverage. We want to be covered under the health coverage ASAP.

Please guide.

Congratulations!
1) You don't need to do anything. Your wife will just give birth to a Canadian citizen :)
2) -
3) Just to clarify some stuff: After the PPR, you should send your passports (which they will be stamped if you are coming from a country which requires a visa) and they will send you back the CoPR documents.
When you land, you will automatically become a Permanent Resident of Canada. Your PR card will be mailed to you after 1-2 months. This card is actually required in order to re-enter Canada (in case of travel). Until you receive it, you can prove your PR status by showing the CoPR document.
As soon as you apply for health insurance, you have to wait for three months to get the health insurance card. I would propose you though to buy a temporary private insurance for this period.
Lastly, be aware that your wife won't qualify for maternity benefits because she won't have been working in Canada for 600 hours before the birth.

Travel early as planned and birth a Canadian citizen. You are not to inform anyone. Go ahead & submit you and your wife's passports for COPR and visa.
