Agreed. Obviously CIC is taking more ITA than it can handle.I have no doubts about your theory, however more than redaction it is delay in updating the information.

Hi yeah, it started back in July and then an "updated date" back in August, so it might just have been collecting dust in CBSA..@R.Tequila from ehat I've read, There's usually a date in the CBSA notes for when the SS started and it's usualky quite early (2-3 months post AOR). Does your CBSA note have that?

Yeah it started in July, my immigration lawyer friend also thinks there are supposed to be "activity"s there.. so the simpler answer may just be they haven't been touching it..When did your security started? Is it long ago? Maybe, CBSA has not started working on it and that is why you don't see many activities. Anyways, everyone has to pass some security. Maybe your case does not have a red flag and they clear your security soon. Fingers crossed

What does a "non-routine application" mean?!!! Did you see any red flag in your CIC GCMS notes?Yeah it started in July, my immigration lawyer friend also thinks there are supposed to be "activity"s there.. so the simpler answer may just be they haven't been touching it..
But another interesting thing I saw is, a call center agent told the lady from the local MP office that asked for me that, because my file was referred to a local office (Calgary then Vancouver), this is a "non-routine application that will go beyond standard delay". But everywhere else it said the reason is work-load redistribution, so the call center agent might be spilling bullsh*t or (s)he was right.. We will see
I know right.. my friend was more alarmed by this statement than the security section lol.. such a sanitized and creepy term. I guess the "routine" ones are those that get PPR in less than 3 months or even every one that gets it within deadline? What does a "non-routine application" mean?!!! To be honest, I have never heard of similar terms on these forums. Maybe ask seniors.I know right.. my friend was more alarmed by this statement than the security section lol.. such a sanitized and creepy term. No red flag that I can see, nothing in the security section of my CBSA was redacted either.
For a moment, I was wondering why Patrick asked questions and our guy is answering. Later realised both your names start with P!OK guys, finally I was able to get in queue to talk to the agent yesterday. The Agent 'Patrick' was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable.
Here is my attempt to word my experience.
In the beginning when he asked me "what is the last status you have and when?" I felt scared, and intimidating, hiwever the call and the agent turned out to be empathetic.
P: What is the most latest status on my application.
A: The Criminality shows Passed. The final approval on Eligibility is not yet done but it is marked as Met so that's a positive sign. The security shows 'not started' however this is the online application I am talking about. They might have worked on your paper application that is not yet updated here. And it could be a technical hold up or it might be in process so it should not take much time. However, I will not be able to give you a specific timeline.
P: Where is my application currently being processed?
A: It is at CPC Ottawa
P: What is holding up the application.
A: As I said tcould be anything, a technical hold up or something in process.
The agent was super calm and understanding during the discussion. He did not show any discomfort in answering questions.
However I could infer that mostly all applications have a Physical and a Digital form. The work primarily begins on the physical file and once finished it gets updated on GCMS.
At times the agent/officer starts working on a fine but does not update on the system that the work has begun. In which cases the status appears as 'not started'.
