VISA OFFICE vs INTERVIEW

Hello everyone,

I am sponsering my wife who lives in Peru and her PR application was sent to the Visa Office in Mexico City.

Now, where the interview will take place if it is deemed necessary ?

I have called CIC but they could not (or would not) answer me.

I have sent an email to the VO in Mexico City but, beside an acknoledgement, I got no other answer.

Most straight forward Outland Spousal Sponsorship follow these process steps (the order of the steps may vary)

1. Application received at IRCC
   
2. IRCC start processing application
3. Receive Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR 1)
4. Link Application to Online Account
5. Sponsor Approval and File transfer to VO
6. VO starts processing PR application (AOR 2)
7. Receive Request for Medical Exam
8. Medical Exam @ IRCC Panel Physician Clinic
9. Medical Exam Result
10. Eligibility Assessment
11. Background Check completion
    
12. Passport Request (PPR)
13. Pick-up Permanent Residency Visa (PUM)

Spousal sponsorship process completion time varies depending on the visa office and on a case basis.......will advice you assume process completion takes 12 months to help reduce the waiting stress.......relax.....its a wait game.

It is, indeed, quite a wait game !!! The family of my wife (& my wife as well) are starting to think it takes too much time....

So, it looks like we are in between points 10 and 11. Request for an interview should be somewhere in between 10 and 12, right ?

interview is not mandatory...check your application status through online account....although status could change, if interview is required or not will be stated.
