It is not pointless. Do not go by analyst comments. I have seen them messing up work ex for many inane details.

It's the skilled employment that matters. So write a new reference letter for when you were a manager. State the start date and end dates. Ddmmyy. It must be up to a year to count
Don't put any irrelevant details like when you worked as a bartender bla bla or the free meals of anything of that sort.
Also include a letter of explanation for why you're rewriting and resenting the documents.
Remember: only include relevant info!

I would highly encourage you to do what tobs has suggested above. And with respect to dates my other suggestion would be to use date like "08 Jan 2019". A guy in Montreal thread had a review required because in India date format used is DDMMYYY and analyst assumed it to be MMDDYYY and reduced his work ex duration and reduced his points.

Even in your case it is possible your current letter is satisfactory for the visa officer. Analysts (I think) are trained to put anything they can not be sure about as review required. Best way is to make another letter and making sure there is no confusion about dates, compensation and duties. So, just follow what @tobs says above.
