Does Biometrics have to be collected before application can start, or is the application reviewed at the same time the applicant goes to collect Biometrics?

For example, if the IRCC website says processing time is 14 days, then how long will collecting Biometrics add to that time frame?

No. Two different offices i.e. VAC/VFS collects the biometrics, whereas the visa office processes the application.

I applied for my mom-in-law’s TRV on 30 December 2018. The biometrics effort for India begins only from 31 December onward. As a result, should there be any request for biometrics would it come as a message in myCIC account? Thanks.

Well I dont think so it will be required as the website says the application submitted before 31st December dont need to give biometrics

Concur- if we go by the book, I submitted the application on 30 December and there shouldn't be a request for biometrics. Thanks much.

I have applied on 26th Dec so all my fingers are crossed as i have to take my family along for bio metrics to and fro flight plus living and extra expenses

Yeah- in my case, it's for my mom-in-law. Let's all hope for the best.

However in the GCMS notes it stated that my mom's biometrics were impossibpe to get after several tries due to skin condition . When i contacted vfs, they sent me a link to chk her biometrics validity and it said no record found. Now i want to apply again. Should i make her give it again?

So were they refused visas? Why did you order GCMS notes? If their biometrics weren't accepted, you'd have to provide it again. India fortunately didn't have biometrics enrolment till 31 December 2018.

My AOR is Dec1 2018. As per news the biometrics for Asian countries started from 31 Dec 2018. I am a bit confused whether the applications filed after 31 dec needs biometrics or applications which are under process after 31 dec needs biometrics?
