thanks, quick question when you went the first time to apply with all your forms- did you include all of the evidence/printouts of country condition information and all your evidence ?

or are you submitting at a later date and have you got a hearing date yet?
I did not include the evidence with my application. In my story (basis of claim), where I have supporting evidence, I wrote "Exhibit A", "Exhibit B", and so on. I did that because my consultant told me to do so. I already sent the evidence to my consultant. He will send it later to the appropriate agency (the IRB I guess) along with papers I got from the IRCC in the second day.

As for the hearing date, no. I didn't get a hearing date. I will be contacted later to be informed of the hearing date.

You're welcome!

This was before the large volume of asylum claims. Plan for 1-2 years. You may be given a 1st hearing date earlier but I will likely be cancelled.
2 months sounds more like an expedited positive decision to me, unless there's a suggestion that before the volumes increased the waiting period was only 2 months long.

The threshold for deciding refugee claims is very low - more than a mere possibility - and the RPD can pull cases where the decision is clearly going to be positive and make the decision. I wouldn't be too surprised if they're actively looking for easy positives to ease their inventories....

The law states you need to have a hearing within 60 days. That is why asylum seeker originally got a hearing date at the 60 day mark that was always cancelled. They seem to ignore the requirement now.

Hello

Please need your help or advice guys I will explain below:

- I come from a privileged family in Saudi

- They sent me here with minders in 2008 for schooling and I finished my schooling in 2013 fully.

- I didnt want to go back but my family expected me to go back after 2013, however in 2013 a boy from Saud came to Toronto and we met and everything ok.
However I could not tolerate this man and we broke up in 2016.

- I managed to get visitor status and extend up until this year.

- I am now without status since February 2018 - almost going 10 months now without status - they refused to restore my visitor status.

- I cannot CANNOT cannot absolutely go back to Saudi Arabia, I really can't and for reasons I can't outline here and eve.

- I am therefore applying for refugee on Monday

Questions:

- Do I just go to the office with my forms?

- What is the procedure?

- Could they arrest me there and then for not having status?

- I don't htink I have any removal order in place, after restoration refuse they just said please leave as soon as possible.

- Which office is best to apply? I am in a very delicate position , I have NO ONE here in Canada and I don't want any racist treatment so I don't know are they good in the Montreal office? Should I go apply there ? Or Ottawa or Toronto is better? I would like a kind interviewer if possible

What is procedure?
Did you applied??

Hello everyone I finally finished my Basis of claim and all forms and I am going in tomorrow to hand them all in and finally apply.

Can anyone tell me:

- How long does first appointment take? Will I have to spend the three day there?

- Also eligibility i.e. second interview, how long does this take? The entire day? or a few hours?

Any help appreciated thank you

Sorry for the late reply. I guess you already claimed refugee yesterday.
It took me around 4 hours from entering to leaving the IRCC building on those 2 days. If you didn't apply yet, try to arrive there early morning, before 8 A.M.; specially on the first day.

Good luck!
