Depending on the country involved, you may have been required to surrender the marriage certificate when the divorce is processed. This was certainly true of the UK for example. Therefore, you probably do not need to supply the marriage certificate when applying.

Yeah true. Marriage certificate was submitted in the court before start of the Divorce Proceedings. But then i have been awarded only with Divorce Decree and there is no divorce certificate. I do not even know if there is anything like divorce certificate in India. The decree mentions all the details like date of marriage, separation, reason and final judgement that divorce is approved by the court. So what can i expect from Canadian Authorities in terms of documentation?

That should be sufficient. The same as the UK. There is no "certificate" but just the official court document stating that the "decree absolute" has been confirmed. There were no problems for me with the use of this document.

Just wanted to re-confirm what you mentioned. I am divorced in Bombay and have a decree issued by the family court in Bombay. I have a divorce decree (no certificate). Would that decree be enough? The decree was issue by the Family Court with a True Copy stamp on it. Do I need to upload the decree after getting it apostilled?

Thanks

Provide the legal document you have that proves your divorce and don't worry about it. When I applied (from the USA) I provided the divorce decree emitted by the court, and signed/stamped by the approving judge.
