Hi all, I called CIC for the first time on 6139444000 and I heard my automated status, when I chose to speak to an agent, a recorded msg stated that all agents are busy and the call automatically ended from their side... so where can I find the option of getting in a queue?

That’s where you are supposed to wait in queue. Unfortunately, they didn’t let you connect to an agent as there might already be lot of people waiting. Try again after sometime or some other day.

Keep trying constantly, you'll get in queue.

Did you enquire about your application? Or just want to relax and wait directly for the email.
Hahaha...do you think anyone can relax in this situation, I am literally pulling my hair. Although, I was pushing myself not to call until today. I think I will call them around EOD.

Yeah. Atleast get to know that your application is approved or not. But even if it’s approved don’t know why there is so long waiting time. They just keep on repeating same lines - you are well under six month timeline, you will get it before that.

The funny thing is whenever I call after file got approved, agent always wishes with happy tone that your application is approved and I am like ok who cares. I am speechless after so much wait and hearing same thing again and again. I am more bothered about ppr mail and they are unaware when we will get , that’s more frustrating.

Hi there,

175 days from AOR June 1, 2018...

I am getting closer to the one year deadline from the medical exam, taken on February 4, 2018, so I would need to land in Canada before February 4, 2019, and I am still in IP1. The medical was taken that early because between February and June 2018 I applied and got rejected for a missing translation of a transcript, that's why I applied a second time with AOR in June.

Anyway, my question is about instructions for passport submission in order not to lose time when/if the PRR email arrives.

I am an Italian citizen, resident in Paraguay.

I don't know if they are going to ask me to send the passport to the Canadian Embassy in Rome or the one in Buenos Aires (there's no embassy in paraguay). I contacted both embassies in Rome and Buenos Aires but they don't know about my application, they both said everything is still handled in Canada.

I contacted people at https://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/argentina/ about guidelines for submission but they said they do not handle passport submission for permanent residents, only for other visas.

Does anybody have clear guidelines for submission? If it should be done with DHL, Fedex, etc... or where else.

Also, do you think going in person to give the passport at the embassy and explaining the short time left for landing in Canada will help avoid losing weeks of precious time of delivery to the embassy and back to me?

Thanks in advance... and fingers crossed for all...

Okay, I finally managed to reach an IRCC agent.

They said my eligibility was passed and background checks passed. I asked her if this means that my application is approved. She said, yes, but...

...the agents can't say that in the off chance that something changes. I assume this means that the visa officer finds a reason to re-check something.

She said I should wait for a letter instructing me on how to do my landing, and it should arrive in the next few weeks (since I am an inland applicant, I guess I don't actually go the PPR route).

And my visa office is....
Sydney, NS.

So, my guess is that most CEC applicants like me who've been in the IP2 queue for a while, you are likely nearly approved and waiting at Sydney.
That is the exact same reply I got on Monday. But when I spoke to an agent on tuesday, their agent - without even asking for my application number - was hesitant to give me any info and told me that for inland express entry applicants we will only get a ppr and not a landing interview (conflicting statements) and then he hung up.

Someone was in your situation here in thr forum, he said once he submitted the passport, they asked him if he can travel within 2 months ( till expiry of his medical) when he said no, the request re-medical and give him the visa till end of new medical

I think European citizens don't need to send the passport physically, since they can enter Canada under ETA so they don't need an actual visa inserted. Not 100% sure though
