Hi ishq74

This is first line when we started Express Entry education section

We will assess xyz’s secondary and post-secondary periods of study for eligibility for Express Entry so on .......

So my questions are
  1. Is grade 10 is considered secondary education or grade 12 ?( sorry if it's look silly question)
  2. What should be complete/full academic years for secondary education?
Or we don't need to include secondary education because we only evaluated post secondary educations by WES or other organizations.( and we don't have Evaluated secondary education)

Actually I already filled my EE profile but filled only Bachelors degree which was evaluated by WES.
So I m confused that I missed the secondary education ? Or no need to filled secondary education?

Please help

Thanks in advance

Hello, I received ITA based on the Express Entry profile created where my CRS was 471. Now when I was filling up next step that is PR application, I used exact same data, but my CRS is getting increased to 478, what should I do?
Details:
My latest qualification is MBA from Nirma University, so options I selected exactly as you suggested:
Level of Education: Master's
Level of Education in ECA: One year diploma (because WES rated it as one year diploma)

Based on this, in Express Entry Profile, I got score of 128 in education and overall CRS score of 471.

But with exact same data, in Permanent Residence application, I am getting score of 135 in education and overall CRS score of 478..What should I do?

Should I select One year diploma in both the options instead of what I have selected as shown above n PR application?

I have helped others for similar case, here I am re-posting it for you. 471 is good enough for any draw, If you have IELTS ready then you should proceed.

You will get points for two or more degree points. But you don't chose to get points, you have to enter details separately and the system will calculate the points and show you in your profile.

You can check yourself the education points here-
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/education-assessed/read-report.html

Now let me advice you how to enter detail in EE profile. First go to this link and create GCKey and start your EE profile. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/submit-profile.html

When you will start the process, first there will be some eligibility questions called "Come to Canada". Here you need to select your education as "Two or more degree". You need 67 points based on Six Selection Factors to become eligible for express entry. To understand this please check the following link-
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers/six-selection-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

You can use this Come to Canada Tool to check your eligibility.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/come-canada-tool-immigration-express-entry.html

If you become eligible you will have option to start your EE Profile. You need your Passport, ECA and IELTS report to start the process. Once you finish filling up all sections and submit the profile, within 24 hours your score will display and you will be ready for an EE draw. You do not need anything else until you receive ITA. There are many sections to fill out in the form, you can do that, its all basic.

Here I am particularly telling you about education history section. If you need help for other sections you always can ask the forum.

You need to enter your both credentials separately. You will have following questions to answer in your EE profile to add your Credentials-

You will have following questions to answer in your EE profile to add your Bachelors-

Has (your name) finished high school or any higher education (University,College or Vocational): Yes
Field of study: your field of study
Since what year: BTech start date
This is my current study: NO
To: BTech end date(usually last day of exam)
Completed Academic years: your actual degree duration usually 4 years.
Full time/Part time: Full Time
Standing at the end of study period: Certificate or Diploma or Degree awarded
Country of study: Your country of education
City of study: City of your institute
Institute name: should be awarding university name (not the college name, check ECA report)
Level of education: Bachelors OR three or more years program
Have you completed Canadian degree during this time? answer NO
have you got ECA within last five years? answer YES
Name of the organization: WES/IQAS/ICES
Date ECA report issued: Eca completion date (check report)
ECA certificate number: ref no (it ends with 'IMM')
Level of Education as per the ECA: Bachelors OR three or more years program

Click Save and Add, it will show at the bottom of the page, you can add your MBA after.

You will have following questions to answer in your EE profile to add your MBA-

Has (your name) finished high school or any higher education (University,College or Vocational): Yes
Field of study: Business Administration
Since what year: MBA start date
This is my current study: NO
To: MBA end date(usually last day of exam)
Completed Academic years: 2 Years
Full time/Part time: Full Time
Standing at the end of study period: Certificate or Diploma or Degree awarded
Country of study: Your country of education
City of study: City of your institute
Institute name: should be awarding university name (not the college name, check ECA report)
Level of education: Masters or professional degree
Have you completed Canadian degree during this time? answer NO
have you got ECA within last five years? answer YES
Name of the organization: WES/IQAS/ICES
Date ECA report issued: Eca completion date (check report)
ECA certificate number: ref no (it ends with 'IMM')
Level of Education as per the ECA: One year program at university

Click Save and Add, it will show at the bottom of the page. That is all, once you submit your profile your system will automatically calculate your points and award you points for "two or more". Don't worry about the ECA equivalency of completed years. You need to enter your academic years not what ECA mentioned, that is equivalency as per the Canadian standard.

Hope it helps. Good Luck!

Your score did not increase. "Preview Score" option does not work properly, it takes actual level of education into consideration instead of eca level of education. Don't worry it is just a help tool, it is not related to your application at all. Ignore it.

Yes same happened to me.

Every case is different, mine took 4 months to start BG check, your one may take much less or more than me. Ghost Update is a when you see status of your application shows "Application/Profile Updated" but when you check inside nothing was changed. Thus it called ghost update.

It usually happens after Back ground check is initiated (ip2). This also indicates all procedures (eligibility, criminality and security) are done and application is finalized. I called IRCC after ghost update and was confirmed that my application is finalized and ready for ppr. This ghost update usually followed by PPR within few days but in recent times (like mine) it is taking long time to issue ppr after ghost update.

Thanks a lot @ishq74...I am yet to submit all of my documents, PCC and POF are remaining. I'm planning to submit everything and pay immigration fees by first week of December..The only concern left is my bank account had only 30% of money till August end, and in last three months i have transferred rest in small amounts of 25K to 50K INR, will that raise any eyebrows? should I include something in LOE stating that we dont maintain balance normally and keep money in Fixed Deposits across multiple accounts to become less prone to hacking?

Also when you said you called IRCC, how did you call? on which number? When I had a query, I asked my friend settled in Canada to call on 1888-2422-100, but the call wouldn't go through.

Did you apply for SINP with a different NOC 7201 compared to your CIC (Primary NOC 2132)? Please let me know as I'm also having two NOCs ( 2175 - Primary NOC in Express Entry and 2174 for previous work experience). Recently, SINP included 2174 in their occupation in-demand list. Can I apply for SINP based on NOC 2174 which is not my primary NOC? Please advise.

Yes I did and got the invitation to apply.. I submitted the application and waiting for further response. My suggestion is you should apply and make EOI as per demanded occupation NOC. It means your declared work experience shall be in 2174.

Thanks Nadeem for your reply.

One more thing, I have a Masters degree but it's distance mode. For SINP, not sure whether they will accept Masters in distance mode. Any suggestion to where to check this. I did check on their website as well as sent an email also but no reply from them yet.

Hello,
My husband has Masters' Degree in Chemical Engineering from back home and he was working for 8 years in refinery. According to National Occupational Classification, Chemical Engineering is in NOC:2134, type A.

We moved to Canada several months ago and he is working in a machining shop as machinist with open work permit. This title in National Occupational Classification is in NOC: 7231. type B.

Now my question:
For express entry with consideration of IELTS score, Back home Education (chemical engineering), Back home work experience and Canadian work experience he has the chance to get required score for Express Entry ITA (455). I want to know whether we can count on his Canadian experience or not? The unclear part of this situation is Employment Requirements of Machining title which is as follow:

  • Completion of secondary school is usually required.
  • Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience and industry courses in machining may be required for trade certification.
  • Trade certification for machinists is available, but voluntary, in all provinces and territories.
  • Trade certification for tool and gauge inspectors is available, but voluntary, in Ontario.
  • Trade certification for machinists (CNC) is available, but voluntary, in New Brunswick, Quebec and Manitoba.
  • Several years of experience as a machinist, tool and die maker or machining tool operator may be required for machining and tooling inspectors.
  • Red Seal endorsement is also available to qualified machinists upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination.

Regarding his education and his previous job, he hasn't these certificates, but he was trained by his boss and now he is working as machinist in a shop and he is doing his responsibilities very well.

I would be appreciated if you give me a clear answer about this situation.

Hello,

I have a query if you can answer would be really helpful.

I started working Full Time as a Tech Support Engineer (and other Job Profiles) from the year 2011 until Today. At that time (year - 2011) I only had a Senior Secondary Education (10+2).
I got admission in a Bachelor's degree Course (Distance education/Part Time) in the year 2011 which got completed in the year 2018.

Can you please confirm if I can mention and avail points for FSW - EE ( NOC 2282 & 2173 based on my various job profiles) between the year 2011 until 2018 when I was also studying (Part Time/Distance).

(All outside of Canada)

Thanks in advance.
