Hi, I have 20 months work experience right now but I worked more than 30 hours per week so my total working hours is equal to 3120. Can I count the extra hours or it has to be the number of weeks?
Number of weeks. No - you cannot use the extra hours to get extra weeks of work experience. Any week you work 30 hours or more is counted as 1 week of work experience (even if you work 90 hours that week).

Hello Everyone,

I have a basic question. Does paid holidays and Statutory holidays count?
Yes, you are still considered employed, and can count that time. You cannot count an unpaid leave of absence.

Definition of full time is "30 or more hours worked per week," so you are simply "full-time" and you only count weeks, you do not count hours at all. (Hours are provided so that part-time workers can calculate their full-time equivalent work experience).

One more question. I already passed the one-year requirement of CEC but my working hours is less than 1560 but it will be more on my next payday. My question is if I get ITA on August 8, 2018, which possibly I will get (if there will any draw) as my profile shows I have 500 CRS score and met the CEC eligibility requirements then should I accept the ITA and then upload my latest paystub (August 16,2018) which will show more than 1560 working hours in my pay stub . My concern is my working hrs 1560 will be fulfilled after getting the ITA. Will it create any problem? What is the time limit to accept the ITA after getting the ITA? Thanks in Advance

The part-time will be counted as part-time, and the full-time as full -time.

For part-time work (any week where you work fewer than 30 hours per week), you add up the hours and divide by 30 - this gives you the full-time equivelent (FTE) number of weeks of work. Then add that to the number of weeks you worked full-time. When you have 52, you have completed the 1 year requirement (and obviously, this will take longer than one calendar year).

One year of skilled work experience

Your experience must be at least:

  • One year of full-time work
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours), or
  • equal amount in part-time hours, such as:
    • 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

Hello guys, I started working full-time at my current job on May 30th, 2018. Prior to that date I was working part-time for 4 month prior to May at the same position, 15 hours per week roughly, sometimes more, sometimes less. My job offer states that I work 40 hours per week. When should I apply for Express entry? Thank you in advance.

Somewhere about April next year is probably the earliest that you could apply.

i have started my work from 1 jan and uptill 14 oct my contracted hours per week were 15, from 15 oct to 31 dec they made me full time and my contracted hours upto 37.5, among this whole one year i did lot of extra hours above 500 hours and they all are paid , as i worked as a healthcare assistant so i am supposed to work max hours than my contracted hours... will they be counted as one year for my atlantic immigration program? my total hours including extra Hours are 1560
