I had a word with an agent today. She said your background process is conpleted and eligibility is met.I told her that my profile still shows background in process. She then answered that your file is still in Canada and not transferred to local office ,that’s why it is not updated...Can anyone explain when it is transferred to local visa office?
As per CIC login you are in IP1 or IP2?

Now a days CEC processing time is longer than FSW applications. Thats awful.
I agree, interestingly we submit less documents and wait longer in average. I was hoping to travel in new years but it seems difficult with this processing time

I called CIC today and got to know that VO is Ottawa. Background has not started yet. When I asked regarding eligibility, she told me that all the documents are in the place and so background May start in coming weeks.

I can easily see atleast 2 months (if everything is right) before any good news.

Good to hear, does this mean that you passed eligibility ? sometimes terminology isn't clear.

Even I am not sure about that. I feel that she just told me about R10 where they check whether all the documents are in place or not.
I hope it is the case, normally eligibility should be clear past the 3 months mark, lets be positive cause at least you know that your VO is Ottawa, one of the fastest out there.

I called CIC a few minutes later, the agent was a very nice person who kindly answered my questions and even proposed to speak French to help me understand her :), she said they are checking my antecedents (which I didn't understand quite well), she also said that my VO was Ottawa, even if I am not sure how it can be Ottawa since I am still at eligibility check meaning that my case wasn't transferred anywhere yet, am I wrong ?

Eligibility may or may not start at CPC and usually, it is done at the local VO.

The only way to know where your eligibility is being done is through the GCMS notes. In some cases, eligibility starts at the CPC and then the file is transferred to the local VO where it is reviewed further before the final decision is made.
What did the agent tell you about your eligibility status?
