Hi Guys,
I am stuck in this confusion and hope to get it cleared from the many experts who are on this forum.
A close friend of mine lives in Manitoba. I decided to make him my "Manitoba Supporter" but came to know that he is currently involved in paperwork to have his own sister (first-blood relative) sponsored and join him there. He is filing the "Family Sponsorship" application for her. He has also not been an "MPNP Supporter" for any applicant in the past either.
Now, in the Policy Guidelines for MPNP, the "Supporter" is defined as:
"A friend or distant relative in Manitoba who is a Permanent Resident or Citizen of
Canada, has been residing in Manitoba for at least one year, is economically
established and is not currently supporting the settlement of another applicant
through the MPNP."
It is also mentioned in the Policy Guidelines that:
"Support cannot be considered from individuals who are friends or distant relatives of the applicant
and are currently supporting the settlement of another individual through the MPNP or another
immigration program."
Here comes my confusion: Is my friend legally allowed to be my "MPNP Supporter" while under-going family-sponsorship application for his own sister? Will the "Family Sponsorship" application that he is filing for his sister be still considered as "another immigration program" in this case?
Appreciate your responses.
Regards,
Adnan
