But I checked on a website and this status means that you are very close to get passport request.. Now I don't know either it is right or wrong... It is IP2 stage and after that you'll get an answer..
Chances of rejection are still there??
Like i said above, if you are applying from Pakistan and you have gone for upfront medical, then it doesn't mean much. Background checks are conducted after you pass the eligibility (though this will not be reflected on the online portal). Once you pass it, they request medical from you and if you have already given medical before applying then there is no way of telling about what is on the mind of the visa officer. Background checks can take 1 to 3 months as they are conducted by outside agencies so have patience if they take time though you can always send a case specific inquiry if they take too long but i would advise to wait if it hasn't been like 3 months.

When people get rejection mostly before reviewing the eligibility or during reviewing any idea?
Most people get refused during the eligibility review. Note that the eligibility status will only change after you have been approved even if you have passed the eligibility months ago. Once eligibility is passed, they request medical but you have gone for upfront, then there is no way of telling whether one has passed it or not. Hope for the best.

You mean to say I'll get the reply directly... There is no way to estimate that how long it will take more..

I am going to be honest with you here. When i applied last October, the processing time was 3 weeks and i got my medical on request on the 20th day after i applied but it took me 5 months for passport request so we can't say anything at this moment especially if you go for upfront medical. A piece of advice though. Whenever they open and make changes to a file, the application gets updated but we don't get an email for it so what i used to do was check daily to see whether they have opened my file or not. Normally you receive a reply from them after a day or after a week so you can look out for that.

Sorry i wasn't active on Canadavisa lately. I only get a notification through email when someone sends me a message or comment in a thread i have created or participated in. The situation is far better than what it was 1.5 years ago. They were rejecting applicants in like 10 days and very few got approved. Nowadays, if you are a genuine applicant (which means that if you have the required money which you can show through bank statements and explain their source, have ties to Pakistan and your academic qualifications are good which includes a good score in IELTS (7 or above but this is not a hard and fast rule. The higher the better)) then you have a pretty good chance for approval. I have posted really helpful material using this account so you can search all the posts and comments i have made with this account. Probably by now, you are waiting for a decision or have already gotten one but this advice is for everyone who is or will be applying for Canadian Study Permit.
Thanks for the Reply man, appreciate it.
No I’m still waiting on my application decision. Applied on 1st Oct and gave Biometrics on 8th Oct.
I have 6 in IELTs(7 S, 6.5 L, 5.5 (R,W) )
Other then that I gave a good statement of around 65,000 Cad along with property. Olevels and Alevels results are also okay not that bad.
My application says ‘we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements’ for the last 2 weeks.
Any idea when will I get a reply considering your experience?
Regards.

It varies from case to case so i can't say. Though you should hear back from them in a week or maybe 2 if you have not gone for upfront medical.

Actually my status is: we are reviewing your eligibility.
You passed the medical.
We are processing your background check.
Rest of the things are: we don't need finger prints, additional documents blah blah....
So no idea when they'll let me know...

Same is the status of my application. Based on Husain information, if its going to take 4~5 months then in that case I think we would not able to register for Jan-2019 intake.

@hussainkestrel , I applied from KSA, Riyadh visa office, online application, on 17th Sep 2018, How much time they will take to process, do you have information regarding visa application from KSA?

My visa was just rejected on the basis that I will not leave Canada.
This is literal bullshit can’t believe it.
They say this shit to everyone , just calm down.

The processing time is different for KSA. A friend of mine got approved in a month who applied from there and the average time from the Abu Dhabi Embassy (where our applications are being reviewed) is 3 months. My case took look more time than usual.

I got refused on my first attempt and the reason was the same. What other things are checked in the refusal letter?
