Hi.. I am a mechanical engineer with one year work experience in Canada. The attorney who processed my work permit gave my noc code as 2232 which is mechanical engineering technician with one or three years of diploma. But my code should actually be 2132 which is mechanical engineer with a four year degree. I am trying to enter the ee pool and now to show the job offer which i already have I should show noc as 2232 as per my work permit. But acuactua it should be 2132. I am confused. Any suggestions please

Hi,
The correct NOC should be the one who match your job letter description. Be very careful and choose the appropriate NOC that match your job letter.

Thanks for the reply but am still confused.. I have one year experience in Canada on 2232. And three years outside Canada on 2132.. so can i show both the noc codes on ee profile the primary one being 2232, for which i have a letter of employment.

Absolutely. And you should mention both, you get more points!
Primary NOC2232 for 1 year
And other positions in NOC 2132 for 3 years.
Include these two for more points. Do note however that you will need reference letter for both positions per CIC requirements.

Just one last question :)
So my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (4 years) wont effect the NOC with which I am showing my Canadian experience (2232 which says 1 or 3 years of diploma)
Also then I can show my exp out of canada also as 2232 if education doesnot matter.
I have WES ECA which shows my 4 years degree equivalent to 4 years Canadian degree..

Yes, you are not required to prove that you have an education in the same field as your work experience.
Even if it was required, you have a 4-year Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, and NOC 2232 is Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians with a 1 to 3 year degree requirements. Won't affect it at all. So no problem here.. all good.

Correct. Assuming you want to claim points for your foreign work experience. If not, just put them in personal history.

Okaye... So i am here on work permit and the job offer continues if i convert from WP to PR.. I am not sure where this is shown in the ee profile that i have a valid job offer which is lmia exempted(C12). I have seen many threads where people claiming they didn't get points for the valid job offer they have...
