Got issued yesterday! Timeline of events:

June 14 - Applied to renew study permit for me, my wife's open work permit and study permits for two children
August 28 - Refused my study permit extension because uni letter was not in accordance with IRCC requirements. (IRCC did not refuse my wife or children, their status remained in processing)
August 30 - re-applied with fresh documents for myself with letter of explanation
September - 17 permit extensions approved for me and family members

My wife and I just got approvals.

Applied on July 5.
Approved on Otc 10.

It took ~ 96 days. Hope this information helps.

I am in the same situation. My study permit expires this Friday and I have nothing yet. I too have called CIC 3 times. on my second call, the representative sent an email to the visa office saying that my case was outside of normal processing times. The third time I called the rep said that they have to give the visa office at least 20 (work) days to respond to their emails. This means that even if I call the call centre, they cannot do anything until the four weeks have passed! So now I am trying to resign myself to waiting. I fully expect to go to implied status and make many more phone calls before the extension is approved. What else can we do? There is a very clear power relationship in with CIC. However, its nice we have a forum to at least know that we are not alone

You are not alone. The same case I applied Jul 7th and not answer. This situation just complicated many things like my MSP.

Finally, I got my SP Extension. The short version.
I sent my documents Jul 7th.
Today Oct 27th I got the approval. After 112 Days.

But, We still waiting for an answer to my wife's Open Work Permit extension.

The process is slooooooow,

I called CIC and they said all my documents are OK, and they will give me an answer shortly. Also, I requested an open work permit extension for my wife and a study permit extension for my daugther. Maybe this is the reason for the delay. I will update any information!

It is frustrating... today I have 70 days waiting for my study permit extension, I have called 3 time to IRCC, the last time a few minutes ago, they said that I should have any update in my application, but I dont have it. They said that she will send a notification to the person in charge of my application, and I will get any answer this week. I need to start my program this week... and I do not have any new in CIC web page... Do you have any recommendation?
