Well - I showed financial info. I did so because no where on the CIC website did it say that it is not necessary to show funds and they ask how much funds you have on the application. This is what I did. I am no expert on the process though.for study permit extention whether it is necessary to show funds in gic account again or not? or we just have to pay 1year fees.

But if you have applied for extension then you are on implied status and can study as normal is it not?It is frustrating... today I have 70 days waiting for my study permit extension, I have called 3 time to IRCC, the last time a few minutes ago, they said that I should have any update in my application, but I dont have it. They said that she will send a notification to the person in charge of my application, and I will get any answer this week. I need to start my program this week... and I do not have any new in CIC web page... Do you have any recommendation?
I am in the same situation. My study permit expires this Friday and I have nothing yet. I too have called CIC 3 times. on my second call, the representative sent an email to the visa office saying that my case was outside of normal processing times. The third time I called the rep said that they have to give the visa office at least 20 (work) days to respond to their emails. This means that even if I call the call centre, they cannot do anything until the four weeks have passed! So now I am trying to resign myself to waiting. I fully expect to go to implied status and make many more phone calls before the extension is approved. What else can we do? There is a very clear power relationship in with CIC. However, its nice we have a forum to at least know that we are not aloneIt is frustrating... today I have 70 days waiting for my study permit extension, I have called 3 time to IRCC, the last time a few minutes ago, they said that I should have any update in my application, but I dont have it. Also, when they say that you can get "any" decision this week, its nerve racking. I am sure that all will turn out fine int he end. However, I too live in constant anxiety about the decision and think about why they are taking so long. . .It is frustrating... today I have 70 days waiting for my study permit extension, I have called 3 time to IRCC, the last time a few minutes ago, they said that I should have any update in my application, but I dont have it. Yes it's true, I came for ESL program... and I did not change my Designated Learning Institute, but I could not work under my current visa because there is a restriction for Study Permit under ESL Program. I will receive an offer to work this week and I could not accept the offer because I can not work with my current status. But if you have applied for extension then you are on implied status and can study as normal is it not?
What problem are you having?
Yes, it is true! we are not alone... but my point why they are taking some many days for an application? it is suppose that we are exceeding the "common" processing time, I understand that It could take more days but it is almost the double of the processing time... it is unbelievable...I am in the same situation. Agreed, but we are at their mercy. We have no rights nor are we supposed to have expectations. That's the reality of the situation. :-(Yes, it is true! we are not alone... but my point why they are taking some many days for an application? it is suppose that we are exceeding the "common" processing time, I understand that It could take more days but it is almost the double of the processing time... it is unbelievable...
1-888-242-2100 / options 3-4-1-0Can you please share the CIC contact number?
with pleasure: its 888-242-2100 options to talk to a representative for study permit extensions is 3-4-1-0 . Try calling between 8-9 otherwise the wait times get too long and they stop accepting new calls. Can you please share the CIC contact number?
I can not believe it! When did you apply? So, I just got an email (August 27th) from IRCC to a web form inquiry I sent them on August 1st:
"Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We have verified the information you provided and can confirm that the agent who responded to you on August 15, 2018, took the appropriate actions to follow up on your request.
If you do not receive more information or a decision by November 15, 2018, we invite you to contact us again by using the IRCC Web form available on our website.
We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry."
When I called IRCC today, they said that will give me an answer this week... I hope to get any news this week...I can not believe it! When did you apply?
