An update that concerns Quebec applicants

Just got AOR from CSQ app.

App sent Sept. 17th and Received next day.
AOR Sept. 25th
Credit card charged: Sept. 25th

The letter says app will be dealt with in the coming weeks, within 25 days, so hopefully I will get CSQ in two weeks.

I cannot link the app to CGkey account, I don t have this option, yet.
When logging into on line services, the app is in process.

Hello fellow applicants,

I sponsored my wife inland and she is on visitor visa. Her visa expires on 6th June 2019 and her first entry to Canada is on 26th July 2018. She can stay here until 25th December 2018.

My application is in process, AOR received 21 September 2018.

Me and my wife needs to travel to India for my cousin's marriage end of December. I am not sure if she can leave Canada while her application is in process or if she will be allowed to come back to Canada in January with less than six months on her visit visa.

I also applied for Open Work Permit and not sure if she will receive it before December.

Any thoughts on this? Will she be able to travel to India during end of November and be back in mid of January 2019?

This is one of the most asked questions regarding Family Class Sponsorship Inside Canada.

The short answer is: yes, your wife is allowed to leave Canada anytime and if she has a valid visa to get back to Canada, she would be ok to be admitted at the border. The thing is, if for whatever reason she is denied to enter Canada at the border, your app probably will be rejected, because if you apply inland, you must remain in the territory.

Some people take the risk and travel, some of them are successful and others don't. If you run a quick research here you will find lots of stories and examples, but the truth is that no one can guarantee that its gonna work. It's up to you take the risk and be aware that final decision belongs to the CBSA agent at the border.

Also note that an OWP its not a travel document, it gives you the right to work while you're waiting final decision and give you temporary status in Canada, but I'm not sure if it would make any difference at the border.

That's weird, you should have the option to link app right away, but if can't access you account you can just create another one and try again.

It s not working. I ve created another account, still no option to link app. I ll try to call them, if I get lucky to get in contact with someone.

We have not got AOR yet. Whenever, we try to link for place it says "match not found". So, can we still link our application to GCKey?
