My Application was Received on June 12 and so far Many people who got their file processed in Mississauga got a pre- arrival emails and preparing themselves to come. However, Mine, got transferred to Lebanon since August15th and till now I have ZERO news. im not sure who to contact and how come some applications get processed much faster than other. Every time I call I receive the same answer that its a 12 months process however for some people its a 4 months process. HOW IS THAT FAIRRRRRRR!!!

It is a 12-month process on average. Some are faster, some are slower. Mostly, it has to do with the visa office that is reviewing your application. Some visa offices have a bigger workload and are slower than others. Applications that stay in Mississauga are usually uncomplicated and therefore are processed faster. You will drive yourself crazy if you are constantly comparing your application status to others. If there is a thread for applicants for the Lebanon VO, that would be a better group to look at for processing times. Even so, some just move faster than others, for whatever reason. Plan on 12 months and you may be pleasantly surprised if it goes quicker.

It’s not fair at all. What Id suggest is to raise this issue to either your local MP or by emailing the minister of immigration as many applicants are planning to do. Even if no immediate outcome comes from it, there will be a precedent that some nationalities are being prioritized over others for no apparent reason.

I will definitely do that as it's completely unfair. Literally all application after June 11th got processed in Mississauga and for this week all of them been receiving Pre arrival emails and Passport request.

I 100% understand its a 12 months process. However, if it's fair and everyone is been treated fairly and gettign approved withing 12 months I wont say a word. But almost everyone who applied between June 11- June 19th of this year is getting pre arrival emails and passport requests. Just and just because after june 11th seems like all applications are getting processed in Mississauga.

Thats not true what so ever. I personally now some of the cases that has been discussed and they are not even close to being easy applicationa dn straight forward.

VIa officers are processing applications based on their MOOD and they are not being fair what so ever. I have applied last year as well as well and got refused because I didnt have a wedding and wasnt wearing a wedding dress. so Instead of appealing which will take 2-3 years. I decided to reapply. From a person who reapply and have all her information in the system already including background check, medical exam ... etc I expected mine to be processed at least faster than last year which this is not the case.

I'm very frustrated and disappointment at the whole process. They make you suffer to see your husband who i havent seen since my wedding in May, they make your life harder than it is already.

I hope noone can go through what Im going through as this is absolutely a horrible experience

I'm sorry for your frustration. Unfortunately, in your case, it will probably be just the opposite. If you already have a refusal, your application will be scrutinized even more and might move more slowly. They will not re-use any of the information that you supplied if it's expired. They treat it like a new application, which it is. They should have given you a chance to provide more info to convince them before they made a decision on your first application. I haven't seen my husband in a long time either, so I feel your pain. I hope things move on your application soon! Good luck to you!

Hi I’m a June 1st applicant and I completely understand your frustration. However you should consider yourself somewhat lucky that your file was transferred to the local VO. Since we passed our medical July 16 we haven’t heard anything. Our file hasn’t been transferred and our background check hasn’t even begun. We try to call almost everyday and they will not even transfer our call to an agent. Our file is very straight forward as well I am pregnant so it’s even more tough not knowing what’s happening with our file. It’s discouraging seeing people who applied after us that are moving along much faster. But as the PP mentioned we shouldn’t compare our situations to others. At least your file is transferred that should give you some peace of mind knowing that it’s in the hands of the officer who will finalize it. I wish you the best of luck and pray that everyone on this board we be reunited ASAP. :)
