Hi Folks,
Sorry, for this is a very specific question which only my Indian Muslim friends, who are willing to migrate, will be able to answer, or at least that's what I believe. Anybody else is welcomed to help, please, as always
I am originally from Lucknow, and got married to a Delhi girl.
We got married as per Islamic traditions, so we have two Nikahnama (Islamic marriage contract and certificate) - One from a Lucknow based seminary, another from a Delhi based one.
Has anyone used such a Nikahnama successfully in their PR application document submission?
Mine, is not attested, but is in English language.
Our marriage is also not registered in Indian court of law, since muslim marriages are governed by Muslim Personal laws in India.
I am getting mixed suggestion outside, for example, to notarized the Nikahnama from a notary, some say I should go do a court marriage, and some are suggesting I should register it in court or get it attested form a gazetted officer.
Has anyone dealt with this before, what was your route for a successful document?
Can my application be rejected based on this?
Thanks in advance!
