Hello All,

My father has gifted some money to my brother for his immigration to Canada. He has made an affidavit and the online transfer was done from my father's bank account to my brother's bank account.

My brother can show his bank statement and the affidavit in case CIC asks from him.

My question is: Does CIC or will CIC ask my father to prove his source of funds?

IRCC won't ask, actually cannot ask source of fund from your father because it will be violation of his privacy. Your brother is bound to answer questions regarding the pof not your father. But your brother must show he posses the fund legaly under the law of your country. An affidavit is just a declaration from your father where he said he gave the money to your brother. Your brother need a gift deed between your father and him. A gift deed is a legal document which is signed by both party on a stamp paper witnessed by a lawyer and gives full power/ownership to the receiver of the property/money which he/she can spend for any purpose.

Hope it helps you.

My brother has the affidavit as well as his bank statement of transaction showing the money transferred from my father's account. The transaction shows my father's name on it on my brother's account
