The thing is my University issues a letter stating that the course duration was 2 years/ 45 credits ( 3 continuous semesters: Fall, Winter and Summer, which actually constitutes 1 1/2 academic years).
I found out now that two of my class mates, who attended the exact same course, went to the US Border (flagpoled) yesterday. One of them got a 1 year WP (because he completed the course in 1 calendar year) while the second person got a 3 year WP ( because the University stated that the course duration was 2 years, making her eligible for a 3 year WP).
Now I am even more confused. This is not logical. Shouldn’t there be more to this process than pure officer discretion or just plain luck?
