What happens if an international student do part-time for one semester?

Hi guys, I'm panicking here trying to figure out what would happen to my status as an international student. I'm taking 3 courses because I want to go at my pace and not go crazy. I mistook the dates between swapping courses and dropping courses so I feel like I've made a grave mistake. My university has a visual schedule builder and it doesn't give warning of the dates; so when I try swapping the courses, it dropped my course and didn't register the course I wanted. Now I'm stuck with only 2 courses for this semester and I'm very afraid it's gonna harm my status.
I want to know what happens to my status now and in the future. If anyone has any solutions please let me know.
Thank you.

Talk to your program coordinator they can probably add you back to the course. One definite result of being part time is not getting PGWP when you graduate.

I need PGWP though, I asked my program coordinator to add me back but she's not responding to me.

I would recommend you schedule a meeting with your program coordinator as soon as you can. Schools typically have deadlines after which time it's too late to join a course. It's pretty much October and quite possible you've passed that date.

As explained above, you must be a full time student to qualify for a PGWP. Part time studies are only allowed in your last semester of studies.

I'm trying to get in touch with her, she hasn't gotten back to me yet so I can't do anything about it right now. Hopefully, I can book an appointment before October.

Are you in Canada? Doesn't this person have an office at the school? Otherwise consider enrolling for any other course just to get to full time status.

I am in Canada and the coordinator does have an office but apparently, I can't just go in nilly-willy so I have to set an appointment. I can only drop classes now, not adding classes.

In that case there's really nothing you can do. Make sure you are full time for all of the remaining semesters of the program - including your last semester. By the rules, you don't qualify for a PGWP. However once in a while we see people get approved with a part time semester in the middle of their studies.

As a part time student, you are not allowed to work off campus. So if you happen to be working right now, you need to stop.

I plan to stay full-time, it was a stupid mistake that makes me part-time right now. And I'm not working so I hope it's not too bad

Big mistake, you need to show up at the office and ask to speak to them immediately. Some of these people work at 3 different colleges AND are coordinators for multiple courses, you might never get a reply, you need to nearly harass them to get anything done.

It is very late to add a course. Usually have the first week or two. Drop dates are usually before Thanksgiving.

Yeah but he just clicked the wrong thing and dropped a course he was already part of I assume its not like he is joining an actual new course.

Don't think that this is the case. Doesn't sound like OP has been recently attending the course that was dropped.
