Call IRCC!Hi, my wife is moving to Canada and we are flying to Canada tomorrow, but we're missing the COPR Candidate copy (we have the IRCC copy with the photo). Found out last minute.
Is this a problem?
I tried but both me (Sponsor) and her (PA) are not physical located in Canada, and the phone number only works from within Canada.Call IRCC!
Oh I’m holding on to that one with my life. You have no idea the amount of stress this is causing me.I think CBSA should be able to print a copy for you @ POE when you land.
Now don't lose the other one.
Nah, the copy that you lost should be kept till you are granted with Citizenship, or better yet, you need to keep it at a safe place forever. It is the only official record to show any agencies in Canada, at such a time necessary, that you are a PR of this country and since when.Oh I’m holding on to that one with my life. Just to be sure, the candidate copy is what we need to present when needed until the PR card arrives right?
I know we can request a copy of it if it’s lost, but are the CBSA known for printing this during landing?Nah, the copy that you lost should be kept till you are granted with Citizenship, or better yet, you need to keep it at a safe place forever. I’m actually waiting right now for them to print a copy. Keep in mind that if you have a transit flight to catch after immigration, having them reprint a copy will make the immigration process longer. The COPR's these days, are all printed on legal-sized paper which is just ordinary paper.
IRCC no longer uses special paper (cost-saving).
I remember reading someone's landing here in which she didn't have her COPR.
They just printed new ones at the airport (by CBSA/Immigration) and got done. Easy.
Fly to Canada and just request them to give u a copy.......they have to give u a stamped copy anyways showing landing done.
