Hi All,
I have just arrived in Canada on COPR letter (common-law partner sponsorship for an Australian citizen). I was under the impression that they would issue the PR card at the airport upon presentation of the COPR letter, however I have been told it will take 4-6 weeks to mail out my PR card. I was planning to travel to USA from 9-15 October to attend a film festival I have been invited to. As I currently only have the COPR letter with me, and won't have the PR card yet, will I be able to re-enter Canada with this letter after the film festival? Or do I need to get an ESTA (australian tourist clearance) to re-enter? Or am I not permitted to leave the country in this period of waiting for the PR card to be mailed out?
Thanks for your replies,
Ann
