before rejection they usually send additional docs request of PFL and then if they are not satisfied they may reject

so if you have not gotten those, most probably you are in the clear

Just thought I would provide an update. My husband received the passport request yesterday and submitted it today. Timeline information is in my signature.

Hope all the other October applicants who are still waiting will hear something positive shortly.

I'm new here, but How many applications take more than CIC's proposed time of 12 months?
CIC received our application on October 10,2017 and status is still waiting for decision.
We have received a pre-arrival email on August 22 2018
Any advice, except to remain patient?

on their website they say that they aim for 80% of applications to complete within 12 months.

if you have received pre-arrival thats good, usually it means eligibility is passed and they are waiting background checks to complete, which can take time in some cases
