Hi All,

Anyone got a PR after changing status to non-accompanying spouse.

If yes, can they share the reasons they provided to CIC.

Thanks

Hi all,

Even I have opted for "Non accompanying spouse" since I wanted to increase my points, with accompanying spouse it was 435.
Now, I have received ITA on August 22 and I am also stuck with the question "Reason for spouse non-accompanying"

What should I say?
I have few options, 1.) My mother is unwell and is a heart patient (she underwent heart surgery in 2016) and needs good care for another 2 or 3 years.
Also, our child is just 3 years and won't be able to adjust to extreme weather conditions when we are still establishing our life in Canada (meaning noi car etc. )
3.) Husband has important projects at work which has to be completed before moving to Canada and to complete those projects...need a minimum of 1 year..

Can I give all the above 3 reasons? Should we show proof/documents for the reason we provide?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pavani,

There is a question "Will this person accompany you to Canada?" in Unaccompanying spouse profile details form...after this the next question is
"Please explain why not" , if we answer no for first question, then we need to answer this .

So was asking about the reason.

I am not sure why you didn't get any question like this.

You can ping me on 91 9886855775. Could you please share your number as well?

Thanks in advance

If you are married and applied for PR with "Will your spouse or common-law partner come with you to Canada?" answered as 'No', then after
PR, how soon can you process spouse PR? and what is a process to get PR?
And is there any chance of rejection?
if it is spousal sponsorship visa program then is spouse is eligible to work? Will spouse get a PR afterward?

Hi, I have a 3 year old kid. My husband has family business to wind up and make arrangements for his aging parents, this will take a year or 2. can i apply PR only for me and my kid and husband as non-accompanying? Also, if I get a PR can I apply for a visitor visa for my spouse so that he can help us settle down and visit us regularly?
Similar situation. Got any answers?

With rolling over all past posts, I believe this is the apt group which can respond to my query.

Here is the problem..

As per latest draw concluded on 11.07.2018, CRS cut off happened to be 442. If I apply alone then my CRS score comes out at 446, and 440 if I include my wife. Am completing my 34 years on 12.08.2018 due to which I will be loosing 5 marks next month.

1. Am in dilemma whether to apply alone or with family.

2. If I don't include my family then what could be the repercussions?

3. How difficult is it to sponsor spouse and how much time does it consume?

4. Can I apply for visitor visa for my spouse after I receive ITA so that she can accommpanied me later on?

Please respond to my queries.

TIA
Hello,

Hello Friends,

I'm in a similar situation as many of you. My current CRS score with accompanying spouse is coming as 432. If I exclude her from my profile, it goes up to 442. I've read varied responses from many of them but somehow none appeared convincing enough. Accordingly, I'd posted a similar query to a Canada based immigration services firm 'Lawpoint' and here's what he's replied which is NOT encouraging. I'm pasting it below:
"If your spouse is not accompanying, you will not be allowed to sponsor her, or include her ever into any application. It is called misrepresentation."

Upon asking him further to clarify if I can sponsor her later after a year or so once I receive a PR, here's what he responded:
"You will not ever be able to sponsor her"

I'm really very worried now and sceptical if I should go ahead or not.

Please help to dispel my concerns.

Thanks.
Manoj
This is an in appropriate reply from a consultant. Majority of the consultants reply that way because you are a business to them the more family members in the application the more they earn. If there was any restriction on wife or dependents accompanying or not they would not have put this on their website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=988&top=4

I am married and we recently had a kid. He is now 9 months old. I applied alone and marked my spouse and kid as non accompanying. While submitting the application, I was asked for the reason why my family is not accompanying me to Canada. I clearly stated that my kid is only 9 months old and he could find it quite difficult to get acclimatised to a new place at such a young age. I got my PR visa last week and planning to land during August or September.

Please note that even though your family is not accompanying you, they still need to undergo medicals and you still need to submit the PCC for all the adults. So I would personally advise you to include the family unless you have a strong enough reason like in my case. Again the decision to include or not will not, in any way, impact your application.

The CRS score anyways has dropped to 415 in the last draw. :) So think about it and decide.
Hi...i had a seperate question..
I am the primary applicant and have mentioned my wife and kid as accompanying in the profile.
Is it ok if i land first, get job, home and then go back when i get PR card, and bring them before their medical expires..
I have already submitted my profile..

Similar yet slightly odd situation - my boyfriend is applying for PR via federal skilled worker - we are common law and I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada with him - should I be listed as an accompanying or non-accompanying spouse? Right now he put me down as non-accompanying (as I'm already here and don't need PR) and got his ITA but is this correct?

Yes it's okay. Make sure they land before their CoPR expires.

You can sponsor her as soon as you land a job.

and what is a process to get PR?
There's a separate spousal sponsorship pathway.

And is there any chance of rejection?
The chances of rejection is the same as those when you're applying through EE.

if it is spousal sponsorship visa program then is spouse is eligible to work? Will spouse get a PR afterward?
Spousal sponsorship takes 12 - 14 months to complete. At the end of the process, your spouse will get PR and can work anywhere she/he likes.

Since the path is long and arduous, people generally try to apply for PR as a family. There's nothing wrong or illegal in saying that your spouse is not accompanying you, but be prepared to wait it out. There are other restrictions (your spouse can't travel to Canada while the application is in process etc) but please read the IRCC website for all details.
