Hello;

With my PR Visa & CoPR, I have a flight to land in Vancouver soon (the city I intend to reside) - but my flight is going to Vancouver Via Toronto. My question is:

1) Is Toronto going to be considered the port of entry for me & do I need to go through the airport customs in Toronto -- does this mean I have to land in Toronto? And if so, does landing in Toronto cause any problem?

Please note that I am just going to Vancouver via Toronto to & I am going to reside in Vancouver indeed.

Hi, how was your overall experience with the Pretoria VO? We are applying outland from South Africa and our visa office is Pretoria. Are the visa officers in Pretoria local (South Africans)? Would be interesting to know, we were wondering about this last week.

Hi, we had no physical interaction whatsoever with the Pretoria VO so I can't really say whether or not the Visa Officers were local.
They had sent some email correspondence every time they needed additional information from us. In general though I would say that the entire experience was seamless and straightforward.

Hi,

I would like to know about the financial and income related criteria pertaining to spousal sponsorship.
I have a friend who recently got a Canadian PR (FSW-Outland) and wants to initiate spousal sponsorship.
He is currently a minimum wage worker and after getting his 1st month's salary, he wants to initiate the spousal sponsorship application.

They have a valid marriage certificate and has around $16000 CAD equivalent balance in a combined Indian bank account and FD.

Please suggest asap, the sponsor and principal applicant (sponsor's spouse) have got the forms ready and also the India specific requirement doc as well.

Toronto will be your port of entry - make sure there is enough time between flights (more than 1 hour). My husbands landing took about 50 minutes then he went to service canada to get his SIN. You will have to clear customs in toronto as this is where you entered canada. No issues just have your connecting flight boarding pass ready

Hi,

On IMM1344 form, page 1, section 7, what should be the answer to Q7 a., ??

Will it be the date COPR is received by the sponsor (Canadian PR) or will it be the date the sponsor receives his/her PR card??

Kindly suggest in detail.
