Yes..Eligibility recommended pass since more than a month..bg check still showing nt started..called IRCC last week..Got to knw bg has started bt didnt gave any more details abt criminality or security check..
Standard reply mate. Next time ask specifically for status of security and criminality check. You will get a specific answer. Also can enquire about the date last action was taken on your file. Be as short and as specific in your query and you will always get the apt info.

I asked very specifically..but agent just mentioned tat bg is under process and application is within d timelimit so evrything going on accordingly..Evry1 us nt always lucky to get a helpful agent on call..

Once when I called, an agent just asked me d date I applied for PR and when I mentioned d date, he simply said me tat application processing time is 6 months..He didnt even cared to look into my file..

True that. Have had my share of such agents. Never the less lets keep hoping that the golden mail is round the corner

I have called twice and had the same experience so I quit calling!! some of them are just plain rude!!

Work permits, asylum calls, card , sin, OHIP. The call centre for all is majorly one. And we as we are impatient we call them , some are willing to tell ya, but are not obligated to tell ya, before 6 months.. Read the disclaimer...

Just a difference of opinion here. I think this impatience stems from the fact that there is no clear picture available in the MyCIC account to see and douse our anxieties. For example just as when we call the customer care the estimated wait time is indicated every now and then. Similarly if our account can just reflect our individual wait times periodically ( the immigration minister has indicated it will start soon ) it will just help us all applicants as well as those hardworking tele agents.

Yup mate. Just used it as an example n also hope it’s gradually implemented for all visa application types.
not at least for next 3 quarters.. hehe.. don ask when I said 3 quarters, hehehe..

Partially agree. I agree that probably we are impatient if the timeline is 6 months but that impatience stems from the fact that their process has too much variation with respect to timeline. Yeah I agree to that every application is unique and all but that doesn’t change the fact that their process also has certain drawbacks either due to visa office or individual visa officer. No one is to be blamed that’s how the process works. Now coming to the agents yes they are handling a lot of queries for various different visa type. Don’t think that gives them the right to be rude. That is their JOB. It’s like a server in restaurant saying oh I’m rude because I serve 200 customer. If in ideal world everyone was patient and didn’t call them well would they even have jobs? They have jobs because people call. If in future it happens and all this information was visible on the cic account itself I can bet many of the agents may find them in hot water. So yes we need to be patient. But I don’t think we need to be thankful to the agents because they are doing their jobs. I’ll be thankful to any agent who goes an extra mile is courteous and helps a candidate and assuages their fear but pardon me I’m not buying this argument they can be rude since they have lots of calls.

Rude, because they say everything is as it should be, or they are rude because they do not impart information we are expecting. We are calling them rude just because they do not impart what we expect them to answer.. Did they say don call..
