Any chance of RQ after DM?

I had test and interview few weeks back, at that time the officer mentioned she might send for more documents if she is not able reconcile my entry/exit dates with ICES. I have been collecting documents for while and still trying to get all sorts of documents for any potential RQ. Yesterday I noticed Decision Made in ECAS.

Does that mean I can stop worrying about RQ and stop collecting documents for potential RQ.

Thanks for your input.

While RQ after Decision Made is possible, and has happened (such as, for example, when an applicant is obviously living abroad after applying), after the applicant obtains Decision Made status the odds of RQ are very, very low (even if the applicant is living abroad), in the range of very RARE.

Congratulations are probably in order.

So you can probably stop worrying. Keep/maintain what documents you have collected, but odds are very, very good you do not need to collect any further documents.

Interviewer observations vary widely and are not easily deciphered by the applicant himself or herself, let alone by anyone not present, let alone by anyone who is not well-acquainted with most of the relevant facts, so of course no one here can definitively state what the interviewer meant. That said, these remarks appear to be a type of verbal boilerplate, comparable to what this interviewer (and many others) might typically say to most applicants. Thus not an expression of concern applicable to the specific applicant, but more about the process generally and a caution that a final decision is made AFTER the interview attendant further review (which might be a perfunctory review, or it could be deeply substantive).

That is, these comments by the interviewer were probably general comments and NOT about your case particularly. There probably was NO reason to worry at all. But sure, better to be prepared just in case.

Again, congratulations are probably in order. Unfortunately, it is difficult to forecast how soon you will be scheduled for the oath . . . could be real soon or not for months. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Thanks guys!!! ......much appreciated. I am frequent traveller to US. Commute to US for work. During the interview officer asked for the US Entry/Exit records, which I did not have at that time. Hence little on edge, hopefully get the oath soon.

Thanks again.

Generally commuter applicants do indeed have a significantly higher risk of non-routine processing including RQ related requests. So you did have some cause to worry. And this does distinguish your application a bit from mainstream applicants.

But the impact of commuting to a job in the U.S. depends on many individual factors, so it is impossible to extrapolate much from the fact of being a commuter alone.

This compromises, at least somewhat, the assurances Decision Made otherwise provides the vast majority of applicants. How much is difficult or impossible to guess, except to guess the odds are still very high the only next step now will be scheduling for the oath.

That said, given this factor the statistical probabilities are less informative, since the odds are very much dependent on some very individual-specific factors. Such as whether you obtained and submitted the requested U.S. Entry/Exit records (if you are NOT a U.S. citizen, it warrants noting, IRCC should be able to obtain those directly). Among other factors related to the strength of evidence supporting the presence calculation you submitted.

This is not offered to suggest you need to worry let alone resume gathering documents, but just to clarify the odds, and to highlight that you should hang onto what documents and records you have so far gathered.

NOTE and REQUEST: Since commuter cases are, indeed, quite often tricky and sometimes quite problematic, it will be helpful if you keep the forum updated, letting us know if and when you are scheduled for the oath, for example, or if per chance (pray not) some non-routine requests or other process intervenes in the meantime. Just a report that a commuter applicant has reached the oath without any serious issues along the way would be helpful information.

Frankly speaking I was expecting RQ all along, at least the US entry records. The lady officer was nice, the very first question she asked was did I have the US entry records from CBP. I told her I have applied for it, I did not have it in hand. Also I told her I can access I94 records online but they are missing most of the entries. I offered that I can sign a waiver to get the I94 records, she declined and said she will try to reconcile the dates with ICES. So I am expecting CBSA has records of my US entries as well, which she was able to reconcile.

From Windsor timeline, applicants who got DM in July are getting scheduled for oath now. I will probably know in a month or so. Even if there is RQ, I have almost all the papers now.......have my US FOIA request as well.

Thanks dpenabill, qorax, mumbai1985.......all inputs are appreciated.
