Hey Guys, I am going to apply for citizenship soon and I am confused with my physical presence calculator. I was travelling to India from CANADA 4 years back and as part of the transit I crossed the border to US by road and took flight to India from seattle the next day and on return i directly arrived in Canada from India. How should i record that in the calculator?

Destination: USA
date left Canada:
date returned to Canada:

In the reason section, should I mentioned I travelled to USA as a transit to my journey to India. I was in India for 70 days and 1 day in USA. please advice?

Thanks in advance.
You must wait for other members to reply too but if I were you I would only put my travel destination and explain in the reasons of travel on the form about my transit. Personally, I do not think it matter at all but you don't take any chances, provide as much information as you possess.
Using the calculator you need to make sure when you left and when you came back to Canada. This must be clear and compatible with the stamps on your passport (if any).

Guys, i went to India for 2 months after the end of my first job and joined a new job after returning from India. In the address section for citizenship application, should i provide the address for those two months as in India and unemployed in the work/ employement history? Many people in the forums say just to write canadian addresses since i am not actually residing and just on vacation in India. But in the employemt history, i have to write as unemployed for that period and it asks me for physical location which is India. Someone please advice.

I would fill these 2 months. Status: unemployed and provide the address and a contact if applicable.

Hi, I just read that information from CIC website, you need list that down since you travelled via land.

Hmm. I found this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=595&top=5. This made it seem to me that they accept "copies" of the IELTS test scores from PR applications. There has to be some way of ensuring that the copies being sent are genuine? The only way I could think of, is that they look up your previous application as your have to provide your UCI. Else what use is the UCI? The remaining data in the citizenship application is also similar to the one in the PR application (some differences, of course) - I would think I use previous verified data instead of making the security services go through the verification process of all information again. Sounded like good common sense to me but then.... I might be wrong.
Hummmm,
This is a "may be" or "may be not" situation. I would rather go to lengths and provide additional documentation than getting my application package back due to lack of documentation.

I had a friend, who got his PR application back as he did not submitted proper documentation, and it derailed his timeline completely and ended up going to India himself for getting the proper documentation.
As they say "Better safe than sorry" ;)
