Thank you! So for the declaration card, you just need to specify monetary instruments - like cash, travellers cheques etc. I wasn't carrying too much so it was below the stipulated 10k.
The purpose of this declaration is to detect money laundering or tax frauds. So Clothes or any other household things like kitchen items or small furnishings etc do not need to be declared. They don't carry too much value. I was having my iPad but didn't declare that either and it didn't cause any issue, same with phones or my friend who had a laptop. But it's better to inform the officer about the same and they'll advise accordingly. They're pretty friendly thru the entire process.
