Hello, I came to Canada with my mother and three you ger brothers in Sept. 2012. Our case was accepted in Nov. 2017 (five years). (My mother is the main applicant). So our status changed from a refugee claimant to a protected person (convention refugees).

Now, my mom and three brothers applied for PR, but I got my permanent residency because I was sponsord by my wife who I got married to in Sept. 2016.

I want to go back home to see my sister who's suffering a lot for a short visit (2 weeks).

Will I still fall under the refugee category who can't return to their home country? Can I travel with my home country passport?

No, I was a protected person, but I applied for permanent residency through spousal sponsorship in Canada, and got my PR.

As I know if they accepted you as convention refugee ,you are not allowed to travel back to your country whether you got PR or not
