Test Invite received on August 9 for Mississauga site on August 30. Went in process Feb 1, 2018 from Etobicoke On

Did your friend apply from the same location ? I see that the speed of processing varies based on the location/centre that is processing your application.
I have a theory - 3 of my friends who went to did under/post grad school here got through in 4-6 months. I think they give priority processing to those who went to school here and everybody later. I see a pattern.

If there's anything, it has to do with verifying their language requirements, since they could've sent their degree as the language requirement document, not directly with the fact that they've gone to grad school. Maybe it's easier for the officers to verify a degree.
There's also the fact that some people "randomly" might be selected for extensive clearance.

Curious on the government calculation of it taking up to 12 months for citizenship. Does that 12 month clock start Running based on received date or AOR or IP?

Cheers, VFX
