Just a suggestion, whoever has money and enough points should apply via express entry(Canadian experience class) as well ,my friend waited for 17 months from provincial nominee, no P.R, applied via express entry, got his passport request in 2.5 months. His provincial nominee background check was still in process.

I am doing the same, its been 21 months already and who knows ,have to wait 6, 7 more months.
I'm gonna try my luck with express entry too and its gives you flexibility to move out of the province as well.

If i am single applicant i won't hesitate to go for EE. this would be 500+480+250 (a new medical) + 350 (new ILETS) = $1580 + $1230 for my dependent. No thanks, I won't give CIC more money for treat my like criminal with this long background check

as I said, its an option too if you have resources.

I need to move out of the province so it make sense for me to apply via express entry, U dont need new medicals. Just the receipt would work as well.

The other thing is obviously i dont wanna wait for 8 to 9 more months as i know quite a few people who are waiting from 30 months. Off course dont wanna waste 1600 dollars but no other option. I can make money later by working extra hours.

Hi all, Does anybody have idea how long its gonna take to get the passport request after file goes under final review. I called CIC on monday and they said my file is under final review.

Contacted CIC they said my eligibility is passed and they're processing the final stage which is criminal check and medical even though our medical was already passed . Not sure how long from now but We are 22 months in... CIC requested additional documents in July

processing time from 14 months to 16 months, then 18, and now 19, they call it "significant reducing"!
