Can you change language credential after getting an ITA?

Hello,

When filling out my Express Entry application, I used my score from an IELTS test so I entered the pool quicker. Does anyone know if I can change this (to CELPIP) once I receive an ITA? I don't currently have a CELPIP score but will have one in the coming days – around the time when the draws take place.

Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

why do you need to retake a test if you receive an ITA ? if you're able to submit your application and get an AOR before your IELTS expires upon receiving an ITA- you dont need to take another language credential at all. however if the case is that your IELTS expires after receiving an ITA and before your AOR, you could take another test and upload those results. There will be consequential changes to your CRS with respect to your newer scores at that point of time.

I have an Academic IELTS score which is invalid when applying for PR, but somehow gets me through to the EE pools. That is why I want to change it to the General CELPIP score I'm due to receive. Would I be able to change this on the online form post-ITA?

I have no clue lol. that's the first time I'm hearing of someone entering the pool with an invalid document and then later wanting to change it to a valid document. It could end up as misrepresentation ? Perhaps some of the more informed members can chime in to clarify- @hope2018 @DelPiero07

It's definitely weird. That's why I thought my first application would get accepted because it let me proceed.

Any language test should be dated pre ITA when it comes to its results. Also academic ielts not acceptable.

Anything will let you through EE pool as there is no validation. I can claim age 25 and perfect 10 in ielts but it doesn't mean one can justify ITA.
Get your ielts and eca in order and then create EE profile

Alright. Sounds like the form will prevent me from changing it.

I suppose I can withdraw from EE (before the draw), upload new creds, then reapply ahead of the next draw. Bit of a slow process.

An FYI for people interested in this topic ...

I am assuming the next draw will be tomorrow (August 8th), but that's not guaranteed, so I think I'll wait to see which comes first; the ITA or the language test results.

If the ITA comes first I'll at least check to see if it's possible to change language credentials, then withdraw and start a new EE application.

If the language test results come first, I'll upload the new scores so my points get updated before the draw and I can proceed with the application.

my suggestion is to not wait and experiment. if you do end up getting the ITA based on the invalid docs application, you will have to decline the ITA and go back in the pool.
When you receive your next ITA, you may then have to explain why you did so and in my opinion, its a hassle you may wanna avoid.

When you receive the ITA, all your pre ITA info are transmitted and locked. you will have to enter new details under the PR application.

Thanks for your suggestion, viki1805. I know what you're advising is a sensible option. However, the way I see it, is that I don't have anything to lose by waiting. Essentially, if I withdraw now and reapply after my results come in, I can be ready to receive my ITA in two weeks. If I wait and withdraw after getting my ITA, there's a similar amount of time involved, no? Either way I'd have to re-enter the pools.

Please let me know if I've misunderstood something or have misjudged the timelines somehow.

I think you're missing the point here. Your application as of this moment is invalid as you have used an invalid document(Academic IELTS). So if you were to get an ITA say tomorrow, you'd have gotten this ITA based on misrepresentation. When you get your ITA, all the pre ITA information appear as transmitted with a locked symbol next to each section in a tabular form. At this point of time you're unable to change any pre information although you may correct stuff in the PR application.
However, you are giving the officer an opportunity to notice the fact that you entered the pool with an invalid document. this may or may not be an issue. But the point is, if you're so sure of getting an ITA, why not keep it clean to begin with and avoid any possible misrepresentation. A 2 week delay in entering the pool is better than a potential misrepresentation where you will get barred from any future applications for 5 years.

At the end of it all, this is merely my suggestion, the rest is up to you.

Why don't you call CELPIP? They're probably having your result ready in their system. You just need to ask them the result, the report number and the report date (you already know your test date right?).

I take your point, thank you. I just want to reiterate that it isn't my plan to continue with the ITA and "misrepresent". Like I stated, I'd be withdrawing in both cases. By waiting, I am banking on getting my test results first, so my EE profile can get updated and thus there is no misrepresentation.

For context, my score is fairly high (515) so that's why I'm confident I'll make it in. Also I'm kinda' rushing this because I have an expiring WP and don't want to get caught out.
