Hi everyone, I got selected in second round to apply for my parents pr application.
I just want to confirm regarding background history for my parents.

-My mom visited canada to stay with me on visitor visa (extended to 9 months) in 2014. So do I mention those dates and address she resided here in canada even though her primary residence was back home even at that time.
-Also, both of my parents are here in canada on supervisa since last 9 months , so do i also mention that time frame in canada or is it counted as just visiting and use primary address as backhome one?

I feel any stay more than 6 months should be mentioned in forms.....Please advise?
Thank you.
In form IMM0008 In section 10 'Current Country of Residence' you will be putting Canada with 'Visitor' status.
You will need to provide date of recent/ last entry in Canada in Section 11.
In Section 12 you will be putting info regarding all trips (including current) of your parents outside their home country.
Also, you will be putting their Canadian address as their current mailing address whereas in residential address they will be putting their address in their home country.

Also in form IMM5669, make sure their current and previous stay in Canada is reflected in the 'Personal History' and 'Addresses' section. Remember that you will be filling one IMM5669 for your Father and one for your Mother.

In form IMM5406 you will be putting Canadian address as their Present address.

Good Luck!

Folks you can probably help me
there is a question on Generic Application form for Canada: about stay in any country more than 6 months

My father stayed in Canada for a year. He stayed 5 months and we visited USA before his 6 months term. After coming back from USA we got stamp on his passport and he spent another 5 months after.

Now the question is: Will this be considered as continuous more than 6 months stay or not?

Hi guys, another question here, please help:)

My parents are in their hometown now, and they plan to come to Canada to visit me on a visitor/super visa in the near future for more than 6 months. I'm a bit worry if the IRCC requires PCC during their visit in Canada, what should I do? My parents are old, I don't want to let them rush back to home for a police certificate. And they don't have any family members or relatives at their home to help.

Though no PCC required at the moment, well I will say I haven't sent out the application yet:oops:, can I ask them to get a newly issued PCC from their country and bring it over. So by the time the PCC request comes from IRCC while they are still in Canada as visitors, I can submit the PCC from their country, plus the Canadian local PCC if their stay is longer than 6 months.

My logic is after the PCC issued from their country, they come to Canada as visitor, so the PCC should be still valid? Do you think they will accept that? Anyone did such thing before?

You can get PCC from your Consulate Genrel here in canada and it’s easy as well as compare to back home.

Thanks for your reply! So bad I checked the Chinese Consulate General website, and they clearly say they can't issue PCC. I found myself getting more and more anxious even before I send out the application:(, never had such pressure when I did my own work permit, PR and citizenship.

Does anyone else have similar PCC problem?

I totally understand your situation, but I will suggest you to take a deep breath every time you start working on the application package. Any mistake in application due to anxiety will increase chances of mistakes in your application which further could delay the processing of application.

How soon you will get PCC and Medical request will depend on the assigned Visa Office, if your file is assigned to Ottawa, you should get a request for PCC and Medical examination 3 to 4 months after the receipt of application, this is on the basis of current processing time in Ottawa. I noticed that some applications of Chinese citizens were sent to Ottawa, but not all of them.

In your case, I will suggest you to bring your parents to Canada after their PCC and Medical examination is done.

Good Luck!
