Hi everyone!

Long story short my partner has been offered a life-changing job opportunity in his home country (Canada), but because the job starts in approx 1 month we have decided to take the Outland common-law sponsorship route so that he will be leaving me in UK and will start his new job in Canada (we have been living together for 3 years and have been a couple for almost 5).
Now my worry is this:
We have all the documents necessary for our application except a job offer. I explain better: he does have a few emails confirming he will have a job starting from 21st of August and also have already accomodation ready for him with written proof of it, but his employer does not want to give him an actual letter/offer of employement.
Would this complicate our application ?
We do not have any children/dependents appliyng with us.

Thank you for reading :)

So your partner with the job offer is the Canadian and will therefore be the sponsor? If so, then no, he does not need to prove a job offer, all you need to be able to do is prove common law (lived together continuously for at least 1 year). If you can do that, then bang your application in! Him actually going to Canada shortly nicely addresses the question that he(?) would have to answer which is proving that he(?) will return to Canada if your sponsorship is approved!

Hi

No, it will not complicate the app. Include the emails and a letter of explanation in place of the employment letter.

Hi :)
Yes he is the sponsor (Canadian Citizen).
I was just questioning this as our lawyer asked for it. But everything else yes we have 2 years of bills, rental agreement and joint bank accounts and also work insurance with both our names on. He has also a letter from his brother stating he will be staying with him for a few weeks and then also has already a small apartment waiting for him there (the landlord is a friend of his brother and sent already a letter confirming him renting).
Tha k you so much for your answer, tomorrrow is the big day :)

He DEFINITELY does not need a letter of employment as any part of 'proof of intent to return to Canada'.

I didn't have one (as I am recently retired) and managed to 'prove' my intent to return despite not having lived in Canada for 40 years!

He also has a 1 way flight ticket to Canada for 16th of August as proof so I guess that + accomodation letter is good?! My lawyer asked for this job thing –

Your 'lawyer' is, errrr….. mistaken. All he would need to send in is the email trail saying he has a job and when he starts etc. as proof of intent to return.
